Or benipulation to get to where widmore is for revenge of his daughters killing. There is never a simple answer on lost, so ben just didnt do it because thats that. At the time the island was under severe attack and moving the island was a way to protect it. I doubt under the cirumstances that moving the island was purely a consequence of Ben summoning Smokey.
