Desmond’s son

I was thinking that maybe Daniel Faraday is Desmond’s son ‘displaced in time of course.

1. Why else would Desmond be his constant? He said it had to be someone important to them. Why else would Des be important to Faraday?

2. It explains the fake names ‘Faraday and Hawking, both famous physicists, for him and his mom.

3. His mom is Penny (AKA Eloise Hawking) and that would explain why she tried to stop Des from buying the ring ‘not to mention the tragic irony of her stopping him from proposing to her younger self.

4. The fleur de lys in his notebook and Penny’s fence: flimsy but compelling since the writers like to give us hints. Here’s the photo of the notebook and fence if you click the link:

I think Faraday’s mother is the short but quirky girl who is on the island in the 1950’s and has the same hairdo in both time periods. Faraday recognized her. She must have been cast off of the island like Widmore and her meeting the time travelers must have propelled her into physics. These events would have also given her the drive to help Widmore rediscover the island. The name of the young lady is Ellie… short for Eloise.

That makes her a similar age to Charles Widmore. So maybe she’s Penny’s mom and Daniel’s grandmother but she raised him?

I think Daniel is older than you think he is. If he was teaching college in the 90’s then he has to be at least 40 now (I am 31 now and I was 18 in 1996 and fresh out of high school… it takes at least 12 years of school to get to the level he was at), which would make him about the same age as Penny and Desmond.

I think he was supposed to be a prodigy in physics therefore teaching at a young age but that is beside the point, I was saying that he and Penny had time traveled to the past. That would make them both older than they should be in the present.
