Yeah fair points from highbrow and Wesley.
Thats pretty much the one thing i cant really explain (quite a big thing i know lol) but the fact that if they revert to a time where they havent got cancer how come theyre also younger etc
I still think that theres something in this Daniel Faradays experiments on the Rat where its mind goes back and not its body kind of spring to mind but im trying to think of a way to relate.

Can anyone explain btw, how your mind can go back but physically your body doesnt, and when the Losties were flicking through time was that their mind or was that physical time travel?

I agree with Wesley and Highbrow's last 2 comments. That would also explain... the combover

got to agree with highbrow here im afraid....what your saying isn't travelling through time at all.which is exactly whats happening. because for that to take effect then they would have to physically get younger to the time before there illness etc. another point is ben linus in the most recent episode he survives the plane crash and takes a walk into the jungle. and hey presto his arm is no longer broken. so the island does heal ben.....so how come it didn't heal him of his spinal tuma???? i think its a case of what happens on the island stays on the island. if something bad happened off of the island ie paralysis then the island gives you a fresh start by healing you.....i dont know if anyone realised but everytime somebody is healed they have just awoken from being unconcious. i think smokey enters your body and heals you. i then think you have a chance for redemption.....to be forgiven of past sins. now that is just speculation lol

Ok, so why is it so selective about what gets reversed when someone goes back in time? Rose and Locke are cured because they're in a time before they had cancer/couldn't walk. Why didn't Walt revert to being a baby? Why was Claire still pregnant?

From what I understand the Losties crashed in 2004 (their time) but the island was considerably back in time, the mid 90s, Desmond letting the timer go to zero made the island emerge in 2004, the plane crashes, he presses the button and the island goes back to mid 90s. That would explain why Rose was cancer free and Locke could walk.

Right, I'm not ruling out the possibility that Cooper died in the back of the ambulance... Maybe Ben killed him... who knows? But...

As I mentioned above, if dead people come back to life simply because they're in a time before they died then we can reasonably expect to see other things happening like people suddenly being younger, suddenly being older or ceasing to exist when they get to the island, depending on what time it is when they left wherever they came from and what time it is on the island when they arrive.

lost4815162342, then how would you explain John Locke's resurrection?

If that is possible, how can you be so sure, that doesn't ring the same for other people.

Yes, it is speculation, and that doesn't mean it can't still be true.

1. It is not obvious that two people have been resurrected.
2. Nothing has ever been mentioned on Lost or certainly not scientifically that if a dead body travels backwards in time to a time when the person is alive, that they would be resurrected. Pure speculation.
