  1. Hi Wesley! I definitely like your line of thinking and the connections you are making.

Especially, in terms of Jack and Roger Linus both being workmen! Good thinking! You absolutely know they will be coming into contact, and what mishaps may come of that.

I noted an eeriness between Sayid and young Ben. It was almost as if young Ben, had a knowing of Sayid already. Did you see the look in young Ben’s eyes? It was bone chilling!

I got the definite impression, that Sayid may have been the one who was perceived as more of a threat, than young Ben was to Sayid!

Ben had to have received his information via Jacob. I doubt he had any premonitions of things to come.

As for Sayid or anyone actually being Jacob, I am not convinced at this point, that will turn out to be the case.

Personally, I would be much more satisfied, to believe that Jacob is a special entity!

Sayid doesn’t know that the plane crashed, so Ben couldn’t know from Sayid to put the landing strip in.

    Wanted to add:

When Sayid answers “Do you think I’m an Other” to Ben asking him if he is one, Ben asks “What’s your name?” in a tone that makes it sound like he knows the names of all the Others, so he can know if Sayid is an Other based on knowing his name.

I think there is a lot to these relationships you bring up, but I am not bought on Sayid, Jack or Hurley or Lapidus being Jacob.

Thanks Dabs. I started thinking maybe Jack was Bens father (adopted maybe) but then realised we’ve seen Bens dad so couldn’t be lol. Was just the fact that Jack is a bit of a junky like Bens dad at times lol. Not to sure about the entity though. I think it would make more plausible sense that one of the time travelled losties are the reason for Bens knowledge of everything in that time-line. Anyway just had another thought. Jack is Christian? Maybe Jack stays on the island and leaves to have a family which is when the purge happens. He has a son and a daughter….the son being himself and the daughter being Claire. Time lines kinda fit? As the older Christian he knows the things that made key losties go to the island because of knowledge of people from the island in the past so sets course to send everyone there. Goes to Australia to see claire, sawyer and whoever else then nos to get his youngerself there his older self must die. Sacrifice. I know this is a completely different theory and will probs ellaborate in another post but if you have any views on this please let me no.

  4. cappayne, you are so right on about that little snake Ben, plying Sayid for information!

It is no wonder Ben is so good at being a ‘total snake’. He’s had a lot of practice! lol

  5. Wesley, I really like the idea of Christian Shephard leaving ‘the island’ to work on the outside world, and having Jack and Claire.

I would definitely post that as a theory!

I do feel Jacob will end up by being someone we know, and if that happens, I’ll embrace the idea.

The idea of Jack being Christian, hits me with that old saying, “like father, like son”, and “the apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree”.

You might just be right about that aspect!

PS: You are seeing that there appears to be some connection and perhaps role reversals between the Dharma/Other characters and ‘the losties’. Good eye!

If there’s one thing I can feel quite certain of even without evidence, it’s that Jack is not his own father.

Even though the inbreeding would explain his low DHARMA aptitude test scores!

For Jack to be his own dad he would have had to get it on with his own mom.

    Gross.

You beat me to the punch Highbrow. I read this at work (but couldn’t log on) and my first thought was the impossibility of one person being two.

My thoughts on Jacob are too long for this thread, I’ll post my own. But I do believe that Ben is going to obtain information from our friends of 815.

  12. Also, Richard seems to know who Jacob is in 1952. So unless we have some more time travel flashes, it can’t be Sayid.

Richard doesn’t give any signal that he knows Jacob in 1952 you just assume he does but all he really shows is that he’s interested in what Locke has to say. If someone came stumbling to you screaming Jacob sent me. If you didn’t know who Jacob was you’d still want to know why he sent them right? Jacks mum could be Kate lol….what was Jacks mum called again? We’ve seen alias’ used before so it doesn’t matter that much was just curious of her name. He may not realise that his mum is Kate and so-on till his son is born on the exact same day he was then he realises he’s his own father therefor changing his name to Christian and so on. If time travel were possible then that is possible. Talking terminator type thing now lol. Any more views or opinions before I write up the main copy?

agreed, we really don’t know if richard knows jacob in the 50’s. jacob most likely comes after the 50s after the cabin has been built.

Good point Wesley regarding Richard never truly acknowledging Jacob. Something to ponder.

Most of the thoughts I have on Jacob involve him being hopelessly lost in time and maybe existing in all times simultaneously. I’m not sure how that works but he could exist in all times from the point at which he became lost and earlier… so if that’s true then he could be comeone from after even 2007 and Richard would know him in the 1950s…

is it still true that jacob has been seen in a non speaking role?
it’s just that sometimes the writers say something and then go back on their words and also, you guys all tend to be smarter than me on here and i thought it was odd that no one had mentioned that yet.

maybe i’m out of date with my information.
