Instead of considering what has happened I have been trying to consider what are the logical steps and events which have still to take place. At the beginning of the season we see faraday beginning to build the station which leads to fdw. After this is discovered someone has to test it. No one can know it takes you to Tunisia surely. This means the island will skip . could this start nosebleeds fir the others.could this be the reason for the purge? Just a thought.

personally i think they will use a polar bear… like the one charlotte found in tunisia. and it seems the DI only built the orchid outside the FDW chamber and dont get to it. but we will see

Well, when Ben blew the hole in the chamber it opened up access to the cave that led to the frozen donkey wheel (with a shoddy yet convenient ladder)… I think the DI had access to the wheel. The point of the station was probably to harness the power of the wheel and whatever mechanism it’s attached to so they could move things to specific times and/or places.

What about Charles widmore still with the others being the first one to use it. He then feels duped into leaving the island and hence the reason he knows to monitor Tunisia. A young ben plan? Which perhaps puts him on the others radar.
