I feel that MAYBE they always travel back in time to the 70's from whenever they first had to move the island & start flashing (Forgot exact date) but instead of just 1 day over & over what happens if the plane just keeps coming back? If they cant be around to interact with themselves then wouldnt they just disappear like Charlotte? An have there younger selves just run in circles again?? hahaha,

We, as viewers, can look at whatever date the show is showing us whenever we watch Lost. Lets say we're looking at Sawyer and we're looking at some date in 1975. What's Sawyer doing on that date? Why, here he is... he's on the island, approximately 35 years old, trying to get Juliet to go out with him and working his way up in the DHARMA Initiative. Now lets look at Sawyer on some other date... how about November 2004... Oh, there he is! He's on the island, approximately 34 years old, playing grab ass with Kate. Now lets look back at the first date we looked at. Oh, he's doing the exact same thing he was doing the last time we saw him there. Does that make it a loop? Is he doing the same thing over and over and over again? No, he did it once. We're just looking at it again. What Sawyer did is simply time travel into the past. Now, if any or all of the Losties were to get to a point in time that they could not get past and every time they got to that point they were thrown back in time, doomed to live out all their actions again and again, that would be a time loop. Simple time travel into the past sure does resemble a loop but that's just misleading. I’m going to describe how I look at it and hopefully it will clear things up for some people.
