In Eco Umbertos’ book Focaults Pendulum the protagonists have to use a pendulum to locate a place where all telluric currents converge and who ever controls it will control the world. The similarities are obvious as

    Good catch…
    Dabs and myself touched on this right after the episode with the lampost first aired…

    She had a theory titled similar, and I had a theory in ‘fun’ marked spoiler (its actually not at all), that attacked not only this book by Eko, but a few other of his books in regards to the shows storyline…
