I’m adding up the letters in characters names to see what would happen.
This involves taking the letter finding out its number on the alphabet and then adding up all of the letters.
Aaron 1+1+18+15+14 49?
Jack 10+1+3+11 25… nothing yet.
Kate 11+1+20+5 38… Hmm.
Sayid 19+1+25+9+4 58… wow, this is turning out to be a disappointment.
Sawyer 19+1+23+25+5+18 91… still nothing.
Locke 12+15+3+11+5 46 Ugh, why am I doing this? Oh yeah… 
Hurley 8+21+18+12+5+25 89… I really had hoped his name equaled 108.

K i give up, I wasn’t trying to prove a point or anything, just diddling. Very inconclusive because I didn’t use full names and I used a lot of nicknames.
Any thoughts, or people who want to add up more names to see what could come out of it?

lol, you must have been really bored, Soupertrooper! That was a nice idea though. I tried the same sort of thing with DHARMA. DHARMA is 4 8 1 18 13 1. Not really much, and it adds up to 45. I also tried matching the numbers (4 8 15 16 23 42) to letters to see where that went. I got DHOPW?, which is also not too helpful. I tried rearanging it and the best I came up with was a book called WHO and on P. D 42. I’m 99.99% sure this is nothing, but anyone feel free to try to look.
Too bad, all of these codes would have been fun to pull apart.

I don’t think you took the exercise far enough. If you take the numbers you came up with and reduced them further by adding up their constituent parts you can get some interesting results. For example, Aaron came out to be 13, add the 1+3 and you get 4. So…
Aaron, Sayid, Shannon, and Eko = 4
Hurley and Ana Lucia = 8
If you add the 8+7 for Widmore you do get 15, but then you end up with 6 when you add 1+5.
Oh well.

Hell, just for fun, if you take the letter in the first part of your name ’souper’ and multiply them by the letters in the last part ‘trouper’ you get 6 x7=42…like i said…just for fun…

well, 108 = 1 + 0 + 8 = 9
9 represents perfection. It is the end of something and the beginning of something new.
thus, 9 represents lost. a perfect show. lol.
the end of bad reality tv and the start of new good tv which makes a person ask the fundamental question what is my purpose?
no, not to eat cheese puffs and watch tv.
