Jack is not one of them
This might seem a bit silly and a little far fetched but i think that jack is christian and his own grandfather. I first started when jack had to go get the shoes at the old folks home and you get to see jacks grandpa….it really does look like him and there are alot of the wink wink looks abound in the scene.
another reason is that i dont think i ever saw two people speak to jack and his father at the same time without the conversation being ambiguosly written so it can be between 2 people insted of three.
and another reason is the tatto meanining ” he is not one of us” he isnt he is all of us or them the christians.
as for why he might be all three well i dont know, i cant come up with it all.

bunkum, nice thinking on The Shepard family. I don’t know if what you specifically suggest here is true, but I think you are headed down the right track.
I don’t think anyone can deny that there is more to their story than meets the eye. The entire family tree seems to be central to solving one of the larger mysteries in Lost.
