'Stranded' - the losties are stranded on an island 'we’re all doin our best to deny it' - all the losties, especially shannon were adament that they were going to get rescued. Maybe the ghosts in the second verse relate to people from the past that some of the losties see (Christian, the black horse and Dave). I'm not sure about the other verses though. Or maybe, and I'm stabbing quite wildly in the dark here, the visions of Johanna that are regularly mentioned relate to the off island past of each Losties. On the island their lives began again and all that remained of of their past life was just memories and visions. They were no longer doctors or lottery winners or fugitives but instead they were all equal and the only way they could connect with their off island personas was through their memories?
