Who are ‘we’ and why are they talking backwards??

okay, so we still haven’t figured out the whispers, but theres also people talking backwards.

I know theres been a number of times on the show where someone has uttered reversed speech, what makes it so odd is that its also happened off island. The one that sticks out the most for me was in i think ‘EGGTOWN’ as Kate left the courthouse, someone in the crowd shouts something and he sure is angry.

It sounds like gibberish, but when reversed he clearly says ‘we hate you!’. Please add anymore instances of this happening as i can’t remember, especially if its off island. Who are ‘we’, and whats the significance of talking backwards??

    Walt spoke backwards when he said ‘don’t press the button. The button’s bad.’ or something like that. (I had a question as to alliances related to bad button.)

    This would be a Walt not being where he’s supposed to be Walt.

    also in kates dream when shes off island and sees claire, the phone call she gets has someone talking backwards if i remember correctly.

  6. Thanks for jogging my memory on those. Do you think the backwards talk represents something different from what the whispers do?

    Just thinking, the reverse talk has happened off island but the whispers haven’t.
    Its wierd that the guy outside the courtroom was just a random non-character (although he also had a suspicious beard) , I’m wondering if it was just put in there as an easter egg for us obsessive fans, the writers wouldn’t do that would they? I hope not.

    I couldn’t find any links with the audio reversed. I found a few, but i guess the pages were so old that the audio was gone.

    Yeah, thanks. The dude is def. speaking backwards. Looks ticked, too - so that blows my idea that talking backwards is the opposite of of forwards.

    If he’s and other that hates Kate, it’s probably ‘cuz she took Aaron.

    Aaron’s part of their prophesy thingy, then. (He was b. day 42, btw). This would be consistant w/Ben getting to the psycho (I mean psychic) - perhaps through his ‘dead’ daughter whose healing he didn’t want too much investigation.

    Maybe both his ‘predictions’ were ‘true’. She needed someOTHER person to raise him and he needed her good spirit.
