@apostle-hitchikers is my favorite book. its simply amazing.

about the people being numbers...wouldnt that make them constants and not variables????

also @achalli- one place where lost lacks is in giddy randomness. RIP douglas adams

I really, really like this idea. I think I may have to watch The Hitchhikers Guide... never read it or seen it.

ScrollLocke - do you think the numbers represent people we already know, like the O6, or people we have not yet been introduced to? I wonder if the "key" people are assigned the numbers sort of in a hierarchal manner. I never quite figured out 'The Prisoner' but thought that Number 2 was second in command, Number 6 was 6th and so on. But assigning 4, 8, 15, 16, 23, and 42 to people, wonder if they are almost like ID stamps. All I know is that the damned numbers had better get revealed.

You may enjoy "This is Where..." also. I would love to hear your thoughts.

What exactly do you think it would take to break the cycle?

Ekolocation, from previous discussions you know I can't resist this theory. I just hope the Losties don't leave the Island in Disaster Area's stunt ship. You know how that turns out.

Anyways, you and I are on the same wavelength with this idea. If you haven't, check out my post called "Lost and the Fall of Chronopolis" and let me know what you think.

I've had a similar suspicion for awhile but never thought to make the connection to Milliways. It'd be a hoot if we get to see the temple and find Max Quadropeen inside. Hmmm...I'm hungry fir some Pears Gulumbits and a Pan Galactic Gargleblaster all of a sudden.

You could be right, but maybe saving the world isn't the goal of either. I still hope Jacob and MIB are just men who become part of an extraordinary situation.
