Is Nemesis using Claire to get to Jack?
It appears that Nemesis and Christian are connected somehow and are “on the same side” (Nemesis’ side). Christian took Claire away from the Losties (as we saw her in the cabin when Locke visited). Christian took Claire for Nemesis so that he could use Claire as leverage (being his sister) against Jack. Claire may well have been recruited by Nemesis long before Sawyer was. It seems to me that the “candidates” are terribly important individuals to the island, as Jacob is using Hugo to help him with Jack (lighthouse) and Nemesis’ first move after killing Jacob is getting Sawyer on his side. Claire would be a good card to have in your hand if your opponent is holding Jack in his. Of course, we have yet to see how Jack will act, given his anger towards Jacob at the lighthouse, although it seems that he’ll come around.
