I also liked the whole "they" as a common enemy of MIB and Jacob... and I'm liking even more your suggestion that MIB and Jacob were on the same side but MIB wants out-- kind of like the fallen angel story in Paradise Lost. I'll flesh it out more in case someone else hasn't written about it (doubtful). P.S. Regarding "people who are coming": I recently wrote a post about my thoughts on Desmond as 108, in other words, one of the people who are coming... in a benevolent way, of course, because I don't think Des would end up being a bad guy (I can't buy that). Widmore, as we saw in the last episode, is on also on his way to the island... he has always stated that a war was coming to the island, I think he has been a big part of luring who he wants on the island during this war. Whose side he's on, instinct says the "wrong" side, but obviously to him he's on the right side... lol. What if, at one point, the two were willing guardians (among other things) of the island.
