Ilie,

I just had a thought about Ben at the temple,
maybe thats how Jacob/the others ‘claim’ people.
So when people are ‘baptized’ in the temple water, they are ‘claimed’ for the team opposing MIBs, much in the same way those that are ‘infected’ by smokie.

And on killing Locke, i have a theory that Smokie was originally the ‘GOD’ that the others praised, until it was overthrown somehow and Jacob took its ruling position over the others. I think it wanted to use Locke to get into that postion again, as i think the others (maybe just Richards others) have to follow WHOEVER is appointed leader.

A couple of questions:

1) If Locke was infected early on, why was it necessary to kill off Locke instead of just let him continue to run around as Infected Locke rather than Monster Flocke?

2) Any thoughts on how Ben changed when he was healed in the Temple?

I think that Christian is infected by someone that was previously a big player and or manipulator in the game. All of the people who have died and been left unburied have become infected with the spirits on the island. Thus, the game gets played out over and over again with the same result, because it is the same people. Jacob has made the Losties that he touched invulnerable to a physical attack by MIB or Smokey, but that does not mean that they cannot get themselves killed some other way. I wonder what it is about them that will make this time different? That has to be the point of the show, right?

Your comment just gave me 100% clarification that Christian at dharmaville WAS NOT SMOKEY… Ilana explained that once smokey took the form of John Locke he COULD NO LONGER change forms. So thanks for clearing that up… Christian is his own identity, we just haven’t learned what yet…

I thought i’d repeat this here.

Much like my belief that MIBs manipulation is what got Locke the leadership position, it could have also been MIB posing as Bens mum who lead Ben to that first meeting which Richard in the jungle which set the ball rolling for Bens future leadership. Interestingly, what sparked Richards interest in Ben, is that Ben saw his dead mother. If that wasn’t Bens mum, and was smokie, that puts a whole new spin on it.

Although, Bens mums corpse is not on the island, so i donâ€™t know how the writers will explain that one (if they do).

‘Knob’ is a british slang term for male genitalia,

I thought i’d tone it down to a PG rating.

The video podcast comes out Fridays right after lost is shown here, and they do a midweek show wednsdays, but remember losts shown three days later here, so ‘the lost initiative’ is also three days behind.

And don’t worry, they’ll all come around when it’s proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that we’re right! (BTW what’s a “right knob”? I’m a New Yorker and I’ve never heard that expression!)
