all theories are based on speculation, but the really good ones are speculation based on well established facts and patterns. So, a theory is more plausible the less it assumes.

thought id just answer this 1 aswell while I was here :)

-smokey’s plan to take over sayid’s body just to take over locke’s.

Firstly I said Jacob not smokey. Secondly Im saying he knows Sayids body is going to be in the temple now so he would rather be there then out in the woods but I think if Sayid is killed he will take over Lockes dead body....as it is the only other body to take (at the moment). This way we could see 2 lockes running around. This would only make sense because Jacob needs a body of one of the Losties for them to trust what he says.....when MIB comes to the temple as Locke. Jack and other Losties will be wanting to help him whereas if Jacob is also one of them he can bend their ear in his favour.

cheers blakecomer :) one i will point out straight away

-ben wiped out the dharma initiative prior to being “touched” by jacob.

Ben has never seen Jacob and was cured by the temple so yea he wiped out dharma first....thought that was obvious.

here are the things that you speculated on.

-claire was going back to the temple.
-christian is infected/alive/zombie. and that christian is good.
-smokey has a team at all.
-ben didn't kill penny because he thought they were on the same team.
-ben wiped out the dharma initiative prior to being "touched" by jacob.
-smokey's plan to take over sayid's body just to take over locke's.

for evidence and questions against these things refer to lilboyblue's and my earlier comments.

thanks for your points....if anyone can would u be able to go thru the theory and list short bullet-points of the 'holes' in the theory because in some parts where I may be wrong I will also change to fit in with my overall theory...in my full version I do have answers to a few of ur questions. but some parts I dont....one point I will say is the freewill that plays in the end of the show will be suicide....maybe even mass suicide lol:)

you have a few interesting points and ideas, but i see a lot of holes in the theory as well... maybe your longer version will fill those holes, so please post it, but for now i'll try to show you a few of the problems with this theory...

a) you are assuming that all of the others and most of the characters have already chosen sides and are on someone's "team", but none of the losties know anything about these teams, so you may think that some of the losties have been drafted of to one team or another without knowing and are going to be used by either Jacob or MIB for the ultimate goal... but the writers have tried to drill one thing into us again and again, and that is that freewill matters. So I don't think that they will have the losties already aligned with anyone, and instead they will be given a choice as to what to do (personally I think they will end the war altogether by wiping out both sides, and that that is Jacob's ultimate plan, and his ultimate sacrifice, but that's just me).

b) It seemed more likely to me that Claire heard one of her traps go off and thought that she had caught some food when she stumbled upon Jin and the Others. There was no indication that she was going back to the temple. Plus, if they wanted to kill Sayid, whom they say is infected, and that Claire is infected, it would imply that they would like to kill her too. So why would she go to the temple if they wanted to kill her? It is possible that the guy in the temple was lying about Sayid or Claire, but I think it is unlikely. The writers need to start answering questions, not bringing in more half-truths, lies, and mysteries... this is the final season after all. If he is lying then they just spent three hours feeding the audience a lie, when there are only approximately 16 hours of show time left for the series... With such limited time, why wouldn't the writers just tell us the truth and get on with the story?

c) If all of the others follow MIB, then why do the value Jacob's name and his word so much in previous seasons, i.e. when Locke announces that Ben is taking him to see Jacob, and when Carl is being "re-educated" Clockwork Orange-style, the screen he is staring at refers to Jacob as a savior and a higher power.

d) If Jacob's plan is to take over Locke's body so he can kill MIB, then why not just do it, why take over Sayid's body, get killed again, and THEN take over Locke's body? What would be the point of Sayid?

e) When Ben went to Widmore, he specifically said that he (Ben) couldn't kill him (Widmore). So, if these rules of yours do apply, and the opposing teams can't harm eachother, then it would seem to apply off island as well... However, if the opposing teams can't harm eachother, then why can the mercenaries both kill and be killed?

f) Ben went to the temple and was saved at a young age, and he wiped out the Dharma Initiative at a later age. It was not the other way around.

All of those points being said, I liked your idea about no one being able to kill Jacob or MIB other than themselves. I actually just recently wrote a theory about a similar topic regarding why Ben was able to kill Jacob when no one else was.
Also, I agree that Jacob has essentially possessed Sayid. I don't think Sayid is infected like the others think he is, but they have no previous experience with Jacob possessing someone, and there is no reasonable indication to them that it may be Jacob rather than the sickness. I think Jacob is using Sayid's body as a hiding place from MIB and as a sort of leverage point to be used to convince other people like Jack and Co. to do what he wants them to do. But again, this is all speculation on my part, and I have very little evidence...

Anyway, I hope I helped you solidify your theory a bit more, and I'm looking forward to the finished product...

This is an interesting theory, if it is true I think the writers need to clarify "good" and "bad" sides soon. I also think it's interesting that he has a soft spot for babies, as if those that can reproduce are on his team.

I question your theory that if Clair is actually good, why would she leave her child?

I think I'd like the more in depth version of this theory.

almost every word of this theory is speculation.

a) why do you think claire is on her way back to the temple to regroup? she could just be out hunting food or others.

b) why do you think that christian is good? i realize why we think that he is still around (no body in the coffin... infected). but now that i think about it - i still think that christian was smokey. how would infected anyone get down into the room with the wheel? it just seems like smokey manipulating locke into leaving so that he could come back dead.

c) why do you think that anyone is on smokey's team? clearly ben is team-jacob. he got all the list and carried all that out for jacob. jacob says that someone who retired at his company killed him. so he was on his side. but all these people were following ben for so long. why would they be on smokey's team?

d)black rock / richard. richard is the only pure one? where does that come from? we still don't know that he was on the black rock. flocke could have meant glad to see that you aren't in those chains as in you are free from being jacob's slave.

e) ben not killing desmond because he thinks they are on the same team? how about he has a soft spot for kids. he didn't kill danielle. instead he took her baby and raised her as his own. that seems heartless. but i think he was probably taking her to ensure that she had a better life than what she would have had. like when carl says to kate and sawyer that they took the kids so that they could have a better life. better than what? better than yours. he didn't kill penny because she had a son. as bad and evil as he seems - i think he has redeeming qualities.

f) why do you think he wiped out the dharma initiative before he was "touched by jacob?" i mean he went to the temple as a boy. he wiped out dharma in his 20s or 30s.

here is the thing. the others could be on MIBs team. i just doubt they are. the one thing you are probably on to is the idea of sacrifice being a big role. but maybe that sacrifice already took place in jacob dying.

richard was asked what lies in the shadow of the statue. and he replied - he who will save us all. it seems like richard who is an adviser for ben and the others. so for him to say that jacob would save all of them - they seem to be on his team. also ben talks about the rest of his people are at the temple. thus ben and the temple others are on the same squad.

my definition of black smokey is dead souls of the people he has taken....whereas Jacobs will be white and much smaller as he is pure and doesn't take over other peoples bodies...or at least not as much. wen in human form they can walk past this ash but when in spiritual form they cannot cross. Maybe :P
