Those that have said whoever wrote the names must’ve been different because it would be illogical may still be wrong. Remember, the lighthouse’s purpose was for Jacob (or whoever) to pinpoint the location of anyone whose name was on the correct bearing. AT least the impression I got was that the images being seen were as they are in the current day.

This could mean that the cave could have another purpose? I still think MIB throwing out the lighter stone in the cave still has more significance than just getting rid of another ‘metaphor’ for Jacob. Also, if MIB is chained to the island anyway I don’t entirely think he would need a really out’ve place, hard to get to hiding place. Even if he was allowed to write on the walls and deck his pad out with the sickest scales

she was in a coma yes, and met christian for the first time there. maybe he was there on behalf of jacob to heal her? everything always comes back to christian. we better learn something about him soon.

I’ve always got an odd vibe from her, since the Oceanic 6 returned to the outside world anyway. Wasn’t she in a coma and as good as dead when Claire left for the island?

thanks for your thoughts. i agree that it is not set in stone that mib is evil and jacob is good.

another thing most people haven’t even mentioned is that maybe the others DO have aaron. maybe they took him from momma littelton off the island. wouldn’t that be a twist?

i believe that in the upcoming way back when episode showing Richard the MIB and Jacobs back stories we will see that the MIB went to the lighthouse which was either Jacobs at the time or possibly someone else’s and took a note of every single name somehow – but hey, maybe he was the smoke monster by this point, and has like the biggest memory in the world – anyway i think that its kind of ‘obvious’ in a way now that Jacob didnt write the names on the rock walls, why would he do it twice over unless he was so God Damned bored out of his nut?

PS: ekolocation I just wanted to add that I know that Nemesis has lied to both Claire and Sawyer already. If Jacob is lying we haven’t caught him…..yet

One important additional thought I have pertaining to the ’360′ degree reference is, that it is a statement commonly used when stating that somebody/something has done a full ’360′.

Jacob says that “it only ends once…..everything that happens in between is just progress”. I feel this adds further meaning to his statement. The implication is, that this is the ‘last’ kick at the can, so to speak.

Hi ekolocation, nice pick-up on the metaphor of black and white with the cave and the lighthouse.

Although it appears that Nemesis might dwell on the ‘dark’ side and Jacob on the ‘light’, I am still reserving judgment. I really want to believe this to be true, yet I have always been mindful of what seemingly is the obvious choice.

I still see the ‘grey’ areas with both.
