What's weird is that they know so much about island stuff yet why then would they know about a list, but not think that this group that shows up may be importnat at first? The people in the hatch gave themselves shots and wore those yellow suits to prevent the infection, but that makes it seem more like a tropical virus, not some kind of "darkness". Also, wasn't Ethan Rom trying to inject Claire's baby to prevent it from getting the infection? And Roussaeu's original team was all infected as well.
