Things Will Be Different Once Jacob is Gone

This is a mini-theory, one that just popped into my head and is not refined yet, so take it apart if it needs to be taken apart. Perhaps now that Jacob is dead, the water is muddy. But perhaps the infection ir “claiming” is different now too. Maybe it isn’t a darkness that infects, but a light. So sayid is in fact good and Jack did the right thing (for once) in not giving him the pill. I mean if Claire is infected, why did she save Jin? Rousseau’s infected team tried to kill her, not save her.

  1. Question:

Were the clothes Claire was wearing the clothes she disappeared in? If not, where did she get them? AND where did she get the gun? Did she go back to Danielle’s hut in the jungle?

  2. then why did she shoot them before killing jin? why not let them kill jin and then shell kill them?

i have no idea about her clothing. Maybe she lifted the gun off of Russeau’s dead body? i have a feeling they wont tell us where she got the gun. it seems to trivial with the time thats left on the show…

  3. She has some experience dealing with the Others (presumably)… maybe she recognized the two for what they were but wasn’t sure what to make of Jin… Maybe part of her still knows who Jin is…

  4. i would think that claire still knows who jin is. think about it. ben after going to the spring still new the folks at the dharma iniative… still knew his dad. sayid still knows jack and everyone else. they just don’t remember what it was that happened to them. they don’t remember getting… killed.

  5. Did we ever see Claire die? Or have we just always assumed she did? Could she have died from delivering Aaron? I really need to go back and watch the Claire episodes I guess.

  6. people say claire died in dharmaville when the mercenaries blew up her house. Sawyer “rescues” her but it is apparently infected claire.

@blake when ben was dipped into the pool, it was clear, it was never stated that he died. while the non-remembering is the same, we must assume the healing is not.

  7. I don’t know what to make of the reappearance of Claire. The fact that she has been shown as a “substitute” Danielle is really interesting given the fact that only she and Danielle are known to have given birth on the island and neither will raise their child. Claire is walking in Danielle’s shoes now and has a common life experience. I wonder if the island Claire will be desperately attempting to get Aaron back. Was the vision Kate had of Claire begging her not to bring “him” back to the island the last bits of the real Claire’s “soul” trying to protect Aaron? I really want to see where they go with this.

  8. Yeah, it’s never actually stated that Ben died when he was brought to the Temple but I think given the process we saw the Others try to put Sayid though it’s safe to say that if the gunshot didn’t kill him the drowning did.

  9. I read up a little on Claire and found a reference to Danielle telling Claire that Aaron had “the sickness” when he had a rash. Is a rash one symptom or was Danielle just desperate to have Aaron? (She later stole him and ran off, which would imply he did not have the sickness since why would Danielle want him if he really did.)

  10. Danielle only took Aaron because she thought that if she gave him to the Others they would give her Alex so I don’t think she was concerned about the infection when she took him…

  11. then again the baby situations were different. claire was giving up her baby for adoption. rousseau was presumably going to raise it with her science hubby, but she killed him. claire’s boytoy left her.
