If we didn't want to give people the ability to see all theories or all debates or all fun posts then we wouldn't separate them... but a lot of times the theory, debate and general areas are exactly the same thing. So if you only put it in theories then someone looking for debates isn't going to see it. It would have been pretty easy to set that part of the "write a theory" page as a radio button instead of check boxes so you could only choose one but that would make things harder to find... it doesn't really matter since people tend to mainly read and comment on theories posted within the last day or so but come on... if you can only put it in one group then I think it would be better if there was just one group and everything fell into it. Obviously putting posts in Theories and Fun, for example, is an abuse of the ability to post in more than one but Theories and General? Really? That's a problem? My first post on citing refernces was a mistake, I just quickly clicked the bottom box, I'm a visual person and went 'i want that in the bottom section on home, so click - bottom box. The 'I have a huge problem' I put there for selfish reasons, people tend to read the theories first. I know that's not the way the site should work and I'm sorry for using it like that, but sometimes you need to work around the system. I think the plagarism/ referencing debate should be important and not many people cared when I put something in general. Please don't hate me for that ;) I agree with you.
