This island has a donkey wheel that moves it, which when malfunctioning, also moves the island through time. What if none of the island is really an island at all? What if it's a man-made construct used for ...I don't know..experiments? (Eloise Hawking always did remind me of Stephen Hawking..explains how the rules of physics somehow don't apply to the island!!!!) We keep thinking the island is from the past, or it's ancient and been here forever..what if has nothing to do with the past...but is a time hopping device that WENT to the past and just got people from the past on it, hence the hieroglyphics, but is really a future contraption!?!? Maybe the people originally using it were the two dead bodies Jack found in the caves, so that's why nobody knows the original intent of the island anymore...
