I like this much better than the usual way of thinking of infection, because it seemed as if Dogen only used that word for lack of a better one, and I even like it over my own theory of dead bodies inhabited by other lost souls. How do you think the magnetism causes unburied dead bodies to reanimate? I like this idea. It really ties in well with the island, and if we are right about MIB being infected, it could somehow relate to his inability to go through the pylons...maybe... A group of scientists visited the house of a family where a child was frightened of sleeping in her own room. She was convinced there were ghosts or something there. The scientists discovered that there was a clock radio standing quite close to her pillow which radiated an unusually large amount of electromagnetic radiation. Their explanation was that the radiation had stimulated the part of her brain that causes feelings of suspicion (or paranoia). They also made a test in a lab where the test persons got to wear a helmet that stimulated the same part of the brain. After a while the people started sweating and couldn't stand being in the room any longer. They couldn't resist the feeling that someone was after them. It's called "Cell" where some kind of signal comes out of everyone's cell phones and makes them lose all sense of morality, turning them into mindless animals (Pretty much Zombies).
