I haven't listened to their last podcast yet. I am having weird emotional reactions to my withdrawal symptoms, so I'm afraid that if I listen to them I'll get all down again. :) But sometime soon I'll listen, I'll just need space to recover, too. Ha ha.

Yeah, so I went to that Lost Live: the Final Celebration and couldn't resist having the pic with Titus Welliver. I mean come on! He's EVIL INCARNATE, right? Oddly enough, I had my pic with him and in a split second decision just talked to Jorge Garcia (since they were basically together at this point) instead of having a pic with him, too. I thought there was something about having just one picture to encapsulate the Lost experience that night and so for it to be with MIB is ridiculously awesome.

Anyway, I'm so glad you liked the interviews. It's like they were preparing us to see that the ultimately many of the 'red herring'-type of devices in the show (all along) has really been not just their creations, but our own. WE decided to not believe certain things (like the psychic/Aaron thing) and WE decided that because something was shown (over and over sometimes) that it was "everything-hinges-on-this-being-answered!" important to understanding or tying things together. The plane meant something to Kate. And Kate is pretty important to the show. It's not the plane that is important, but Kate and her journey, her role in loving/accepting Jack, her tabula rasa island experience. Sure, she's not my favorite, but she obviously was important and way more important than a symbolic toy plane. (Oh geez, I'm rambling. Sorry.)

I loved their explanation example with the Widmore thing; like they were reminding us that they aren't insulting our intelligence and things can be quite simple and satisfying.

We saw plenty of flashbacks of Jacob off-island connecting with people. We didn't see this for Widmore. If they didn't show it, maybe it's because it didn't happen. That's just flat out logic that I think we sometimes forgot about because we were too busy worrying about the rules, the "how did Jacob get off the island when MIB couldn't?" type of stuff. I know that feels important, but at the end of the day, the story was about trust and the things that developed in the story actually hinged on characters trusting each other. (Basically one of the only things/themes I wrote about on this site this season, so I'm already boring myself because I feel like I said it before.)

I don't bring that up to criticize people for wanting to know how Jacob got off the island, but I think the writers were actually more consistent than a lot of people have given them credit for this season. So that example with Widmore's "Jacob came to me" line is just an example of what I respect about what they did with telling their story, their way. Times Talk Live was just a great way to look back on what I think was their genius all along.

Kimberly...first of all...is that you with MIB?
That is pretttttyyyy... pretttttyyyy... pretttttyyyy awesome...

I saw the whole thing now...LOVED it...

That IS a big give away, saying that everyone is together...slipped right passed me.

I did hear that about Claire...
Emilie De Ravens strategy is either genius...or her way of saying that she doesnt watch Lost, lol...I think strategy, which makes her somewhat of a genius in my eyes if true...good call on bringing her up!

I also liked that they gave insight about Aaron and other mysteries that were not quite as mysterious as we made them out to be.

Seriously...if there were no theory sites like this, would anyone really even think about Kates plane or Johns shoes...?
No, we would probably be much more blown away, but would have Lost something in the journey along the way.

Lol...speaking of meeting people on theory sites, I love to just copy and paste a theory I write specifically for here on other boards like DarkUFO or ABC, lol...

I rarely do it, but people just DESTROY it for the punctuation and odd spacing/paragraphs, lol...

One person says how terrible it is that they cant even read it, I cant help but crack up...

I posted my "Greatest Theory I Have Ever Seen" on both...people actually yelled at me online because they were so angry about it...
I look here, and there is 50 comments telling me how good it is...

Just goes to show Im only stupid and crazy until you get to know me...well...sometimes its sketchy even then...

Im SO glad you told me about that, I wasnt kidding when I said I may have enjoyed it as much as the show.

Now that ts done, Im going over all the old podcasts from ABC, never really listened to them before...hilarious!

The last one is really good if you get a chance.
At the end, they replay what was called "Darltons favorite podcast moment"...

They LAUGH, and I mean laugh in a 'poking fun at way" at trivial ridiculous questions that people ask, the last 30 seconds of the podcast is a question about "Lockes brother"...you just have to hear it...

Late is always better than never Kim, get back when you can, and again thanks for the info about everything!

I hate to be the one to burst your bubble, but Walt was in the finale. He was in jacks (maybe johns) flashback/ awakening. He was also credited as being in the episode. I think that is what the writers were refering to. They are pretty sly... I hope I am wrong.

Hey AES. Better late than never?

Every time I have thought about checking in here or I'm trying to remember the last question you asked me it is never a time I'm actually near my computer. Oh well.

I'm glad you watched part of it. Yes there are 10 10-minute videos and 1 3-minute video to close.

I was very surprised about the Walt statement; it was so out of character that I wondered if it was actually true. Better safe to tell you "big spoiler" than not. Now having watched The End, I am SO surprised that Damon mentioned something about a scene involving many of the cast in one of the final scenes! That was surprising then and even more surprising now.

I know I am in the minority here (not necessarily with you, but here at the site) so just to clarify, I come in peace... ;) and I have no intention of arguing over perspectives on the end.

The reason I liked the Times Talk event was because it was a precursor and parallel to why I liked The End. I very much appreciated how they resolved issues according to their terms and stuck by them knowing that many wouldn't be satisfied. As artists an creative people, especially in TV, that is a HUGE risk. I appreciated their various statements about things like Aaron and his specialness (as you pointed out) because I think that the big picture is recognizing how we (the viewers) have been on the same journey as the characters.

Have you heard about Emilie de Ravin not watching the show last season when she wasn't on it because she wanted to 'feel' and 'think' like her character would? She didn't want to know what was going on in order to truly act like she didn't know what was going on. I like that, and I think it somehow reflects why I was satisfied and deeply moved by their 'resolutions' and such. It's unimaginable to so many of us to purposely stay in the dark about an entire season in order to have a better grasp and connection with what is actually happening!

Anyway.

Obviously, part of the legacy of this show is how involved the viewers became in the journey. (Hello, nice to meet you on this theories site dedicated to Lost.) One of the things that I have always loved is that our journey as the viewer can always relate to one (or more) of the journeys of the character(s). So really it's like we are one of the characters at any given point. The smashing of the mirror scene from Lighthouse could epitomize how some people might walk away from The End... just pissed to no end at these Darlton characters who have been messing with their lives for years.

I love that kind of stuff.

Back to TTL...

I liked how they showed different scenes from throughout the seasons to talk about where they were coming from and part of the creative/writing process. It was a good looking back at pivotal points that obviously are benchmarks for the story and the characters.

Some of the questions from the audience were forgettable (except as you mentioned how Emerson and Jorge answered them!) but that was par for the course in all of the audience-question times lately.

I know this comment is now long enough to be it's own post , but I owed you a response from weeks ago. ;) Sorry to everyone else.

I'm sure there will be plenty more to discuss after August 24th.

Ilie...You killed Laura Palmer...well the table is made of for_mic_a...

Sorry for the mix up...No time travel in Peaks at all...who the hell knows where it would have gone if it would have made another few seasons...?

Wow...talk to anyone that watched that show...they love it.

It makes me think that is what Lost could have been without the internet...or what "Peaks" could have been with it...

Thanks for the spoiler Henry...I dont think they ran out of time though...they had three years.
I really think some things were left out purposely to help push the DVD sales...dirty maybe...but genius... I would do it if I could...

The other dvds sold mostly because we needed to watch them 1000 times to figure out what was going on...now we need a reason to buy this right away...

eko...lol...

I get what you are saying though.

They cry wolf, and then when Hurley tells us all what the whispers are...we say, "Yeah, but what are the whispers really?"...

I think thats kind of the fun in it though.
I know many people here are not fond of the conclusion, but I talk about it more off site now than ever, and probably come up with thoughts and ideas more quickly now that I can hear what they are saying in interviews.

I actually wished I would have lisened to them more the last two seasons now that its all said and done...

mnicolau...YOU SHOULD BE SORRY...
;]

Yeah, I heard people talking about TruBlood at work, and thought, "yeah, another Vamp story"...Im telling you, best show on TV now that Lost is over...at least from a pure entertainment standpoint.

It and Fringe both take about 4 to 5 episodes to really dig into...then they both take off.

Also, if you are at all into reading, or if your not and want a good "starter author" to build from...read anything by Chuck Palahniuk.

If you want a "Lost" type experience, go with "Rant"...its not at all the same genre, but it will make you reminisce about at least a little...no spoiler on that though.

Some of his other books are indeed better, but its a very fun read and supplied me with a few days of trying to figure out what the hell was going on.
It proposes some interesting thoughts and theories.
