I’ll say it again just incase, Do not read this if you have not seen the Lost finale and/or the epilogue included on the Lost Season 6 DVD
Anyway, if you have seen the epilogue, does anyone know what Hurley meant by the “job” for Walt? In a way I think the whole epilogue kind of left viewers guessing than answering some questions, but my guess was for Walt to take over as the ‘Man in charge’, and Walt was the ‘New’ leader.
The Dharma Initiative was explained as to why the islander’s were still getting food drops, but other than that I can’t think of anything that was answered.
So there I was, settling in to watch my second favorite TV show–House–the other night. It starts out with an old fashioned 18th century ship in a storm on the sea. What? This isn’t Princeton, New Jersey! Cut to the inside of the hull, where overcrowded slaves are in chains moaning and groaning and getting seasick. (The Black Rock, anyone?) The evil captain comes down and drags one of them above to be thrown overboard, as he frantically says good-bye to his son. After this, a flash of light and a “whooshing” sound bring the scene to a calm sea in 2010 where a family is vacationing on their cabin cruiser (which is very reminiscent of Desmond’s and Penny’s boat, “Our Mutual Friend.”) Add this to the recent addition of Cynthia Watros to the cast of House, and I wondered if this episode wasn’t a nod to Lost. So did anyone else catch it?
I know some of you are watching The Event, and I’ve recently seen the first 4 episodes and think it’s really good. It hasn’t got me hooked in the same way as I was when I first saw The Pilot of LOST – however, I do look forward to seeing what’s going to happen next.
And really, this show shouldn’t be compared with Lost. It’s a completely different show. Sure, it poses questions, but it’s a completely different story to what was Lost.
With that though, I think it could conjur up many theories, and so I have created a site called theoriesontheevent.com – you may recognise the layout and colour scheme (I think I got lazy).
So, if you’ve been watching The Event and have theories, questions etc. be sure to register 🙂
As suggested by wolfx I’ve decided to extend October 2010’s Theory contest til the end of November, so it’ll be the Oct/Nov 2010 Theory contest.
I hope this is ok with everyone. Let me know if you have any ideas for future contests 🙂
Admin, because there were so few entries for Oct 2010, perhaps the contest period could be extended for those who did not get the opportunity to submit a theory in time? It could be called the “Oct/Nov ’10 Contest”.
I (for one) was looking forward to reading a variety of thoughts about The Cabin! It was an excellent basis for discussion. Perhaps the theme is so intriging, more time to ponder it is required.
Ok so I have just finished watching the entire show again (my girlfriend wanted to watch it, and of course I’m willing to re-watch it in fact I would do it again right now.)
But that’s not the point of this post. As I re-watched I had a lot of questions answered, and by the finale I really didn’t have any gnawing questions. I assume this is because of watching it straight through, and not having those big lulls to sit here and read and post theories, the only question I had was this.
Where the fuck did they get all that tarp from, I’m serious every person had a good amount of tarp, and there was tarp to make stretchers and water collectors and all other types of things. I don’t know about most of you but I don’t travel with a suitcase full of tarp, and I don’t thinks planes have much tarp in them. It really confused me with all the extra tarp, did they just have extra piles of it? Because when the tailies come they hook all of them up with tarp, and then jack has more to give to juliet, can someone please explain where this tarp may have come from? Am I just ignorant to the fact that airplanes have an emergency stash of tarp? thanks
Hey everyone! Here is the subject for this months theory contest. As it’s the month of Halloween I thought I’d come up with a subject that is kinda “spooky” (at least it seemed that way when we were first introduced to it!). Yup, I’m talking about “The Cabin”. (This was also suggested by shephards_flocke last month) 🙂
So, basically, explain the whole story behind the cabin. Who was there the first time Locke and Ben went there? Why/how does it move? Who’s eye did Hurley see? What’s with the ash ring? Is it protecting the outside or inside etc. etc. Loads of things happened with this cabin but when trying to fit the pieces together with what we know about Jacob and MIB, it just doesn’t all add up.
So you have to come up with a theory that explains most of its mystery and tie it all together.
– Enjoy! xx
Is anyone one on here jumping on to any of the theory sites for The Event?
Hey everyone! Thanks to everyone who submitted an theory to the September 2010 Theory Contest. They all were fab! Now it’s time to vote! Use the following form to submit your vote. You are able to vote for yourself, but it’d be nice if you didn’t 🙂
As a recap, here are the links to the theories:
Voting is open until 31st October 2010. The Theory Contest for October 2010 will be up in a couple of days! Have fun! x
Wolfx’s theory made me wonder … could it be that Freighter Michael was ‘special’ – a little like Desmond – and in his own flash-sideways, trying to rectify his ‘wrongs’ and be reuinited with Walt? Perhaps Walt was in the psycho-ward for the same reason Hurley … he sees dead people – like his dad. It would also explain why Christian told him he could go now …
Hey everyone! Welcome to the first theory contest! Let’s see how this goes 🙂
So, as it’s September, I thought it would be a good idea to have this months contest be about The Pilot. It’s been nearly 6 whole years since The Pilot and I don’t think we ever got a reasonable answer as to why the pilot of Oceanic 815 was killed by the monster.
Was he a candidate? Was “Smokey” expecting it to be Frank? Was “Smokey” just in a bad mood that day?
Post your theories in the normal way but please make a note in the title or the post itself that it’s a contest entry, and then post a link to it in the comments section of this post 🙂
Have fun! I’m going to enjoy reading your theories!
It’s been a while since I last posted anything here. I’m really pleased that some of you still take the time to post stuff here even after Lost has ended 🙂
I wanted to get your opinion on something. I was thinking that every month we could have a Theory Contest where I select a mystery that was unexplained on the show, and you have to submit a theory to explain it. Then at the end of the month there’s a vote on which theory is the best. Obviously, I’m unable to give away real prizes, it’s more just for fun and a way to keep the site more active.
I know most of you probably don’t want to think about Lost now that it’s over, but I know some of you may enjoy the idea. So, let me know what you think, if you’d be willing to join in etc. If it’s a bad idea feel free to let me know 🙂

As simple as the title reads. We all love and miss lost. And we all know not every question was answered. Lets create a definitive list of unanswered questions. I’ll start.
Who were the 3 wise men who created the chess game on the computer, and what was the relevance of telling us about them? Was it a religious theme(3 wise men) or was i an inside joke referring to damon, carleton, and JJ?
Is it tied to the pool-of-light that needed protection?
If so, how is it tied to Jacob’s life?
Is it always tied to the candidate?
Did it default to MIB ‘cuz he drowned there, so those ‘saved’ were more his minions (Sayid) vs. Jacobs (aka Ben)?
For those of you who have seen my posts/comments, you should know I’m a finale-defender and try to see the positive in all the show had to offer. However, I have agreed with many of you that there were several loose-ends and plot-holes. I for one believe there is no requirement set on the writers to sew-up every detail, though consistency throughout the story is a good thing. With that said, my post-Lost mission is to analyze the story and route-out various connections and methods perhaps missed upon first view, to see if there are answers already within the story to explain certain uncertainties. Now to my question!!..
Desmond spoke to Eloise Hawking several times in time-flashing and consciousness-flashing. Eloise seemed to have foreknowledge in 1996 and was also conscious of her real life in the flash-sideways purgatory. In a way, she seems to have the same abilities as Desmond but more advanced and honed. Question is.. how did Eloise acquire these abilities?
**PLEASE** Only serious thoughts on the issue and no “there is no answer cuz Lost sucks” comments, please. Thank you!
I was just curious to see if anyone has seen, heard or read anything from Damon and Carlton since the finale.
I knew they were going into silence for a while, but they seemed to completely go off the radar. I don’t use twitter, does anyone know if they said anything interesting there? Maybe they’ve mysteriously disappeared like Osama Bin Laden.
