What would you choose?

My son has a home basketball game tonight and he’ll be a starter. The game begins at 7pm; Lost starts at 8. I could TAPE lost, but my dvd recorder only tapes 2 hrs at a time and we all know how boy’s games never start on time ‘cuz the girl’s don’t end on time … AND for some reason, though I can build a radio w/2 coconuts, the recorder never starts when I NEED it to (sure, works fine when I test it).

So – what would you choose?

  1. Tough one lol. I don’t have any kids, but having the idea to attend and cheer for them is better than anything. You can always see lost on Hulu (assuming youre from the States).

Unless of course you have always been to his game every year.. one absence won’t hurt, right? See, I don’t know. haha

  2. I don’t have kids for this very reason…….But in your case, which would you regret more? You’d still be able to hop online to watch the episode as some point later on. Think about your family too. Is your wife/husband (if there is one) going to think less of you if you don’t go to the game?

I remember the first game I started as a shooting gaurd, it sure was fun trying to show off to my family and friends. That’s my answer. ‘Sup to you though, good luck!

  3. My daughter has a dance class tonight and I’m going… Of course, the DVR is very reliable and I’ll be checking the settings right before we leave to be extra sure.

  4. There’s no reason that anyone EVER need worry about missing an episode. As one of the most popular series in the history of television, there will be beautifully capped both regular and HD versions of the show online within minutes of it concluding Eastern time tonight. I consistently am watching LOST throughout it’s history before it even broadcasts on West Coast time and without commercials…it was REALLY great when I lived in Hawaii, then I had it in the afternoon. There’s no reason that anyone with a computer who wants can’t watch the show tonight, no matter what part of the world you are in. Google is your friend.

  5. uh, take 10 minutes and go trade your cable box for one that has DVR. you won’t miss a minute, and can watch it as soon as you get home from the game.

  6. Go watch the game for an hour and then come home to watch LOST. Thats what i would do.

but i guess there’s lots of factors here really: Will there be many other home games to watch? Do you always watch them (ie: would they really be that upset if you missed ONE?) and is this like the last time he will be a starter?

I played basketball when i was younger, and if my dad missed one game i really wouldn’t have minded at all. but thats just me 🙂

  7. Do you have someone like a neighbor who could turn on the dvd recorder for you. I have my first little one due May 18 on a Tuesday. This of course is right around Finale time and where I am at it airs on Tuesdays. What do you think I should do. Should I tell wifey I’ll meet you there when it’s over. Lol. Joking of course.

  8. You should go to the game.

I don’t know how it works in the US, but in the UK once the latest episode has aired it’s repeated a couple of times during the week until the next episode. Surely the US will do the same?

At the end of the day, you’ll be able to catch up with Lost… how many times will you get to go to this game?

  9. *chuckle* Of course I went. He’da understood, and thankfully the game didn’t go into overtime and I got back before the commentary thing was over.

BTW, though close – they ‘Lost’.
