The cursed numbers

If you noticed right each one of the candidates had a number on their left like Jack had 23 for example. I believe that each one of them has a number that it means something for them and they use it through their life all the time probably without noticing it. But I also noticed something that seemed strange to me. All of the uncrossed candidates had strange numbers in their left. Let’s see them

4- John Locke

8- Hugo Reyes

15- Sawyer

16- Sayid

23- Jack Shephard

42- Kwon

Notice the numbers: 4, 8, 15, 16, 23, 42. The same numbers that Hugo used to win the lottery. The cursed numbers represent probably the most important characters in the show. I wonder if the authors will use this fact in the future.

  1. Everybody already knows the numbers are important. I can’t think of any Lost fan that doesn’t have these numbers memorized 🙂 Also, they are not just lottery numbers or candidate numbers, they appear throughout the series on alarm clocks, the hatch, the computer inside the hatch, the girls soccer team in the airport as Hurley is running to catch his flight…

  2. I think it’s a nice coincidence that Matthew Sheppard is rumored to be the only person to know the out come outside of the wrirting staff and his character Jacks nuber is 23 and the series finally is on 23 of May. Could this be more than coincidence?

  3. Also, Hurley was involved in an accident that was a dock collapsing and 2 people dying. He felt it was his fault because of his weight and is partially why he ended up in the mental hospital. The dock was designed to hold 8, but was holding 23.
