dying brain
The show was only about two characters.
The sole dying survivor of a plane crash and the stray dog that finds him.
The rest is about the hallucinations/dreams of a dying brain shutting down.
Sounds like the nonsense in normal dreams e.g. magic islands, polar bears etc.
So to watch the actual show just watch the first moments of episode 1 and the
la st moments of the last episode. The bits with jack.
On another point was Desmond the only one who was self aware when having flash/ forwards /backwards ? This was one of his unique qualities?
Another point. Do you think the actors will be affected/annoyed at the ending? Personally and professionally?
I didn’t really understand your post, but I’ll try to answer your last question….
No doubt about it. You can read some of their faces when you see them talking during interviews.
I can tell Emerson (Ben Linus) wasn’t too thrilled by how it ended just by his knee jerk reaction when asked how he thought his character ended. “Loved it” he says with a straight face.
Widmore (whatever his name is) sure seems to have an attitude whenever he’s asked anything about Lost.
Sayid (Naveen I think is his name) straight up says “I don’t watch the show” and he looks to be just as pissed off as Widmore does.
Locke and Hurley don’t seem too pleased either by the ending. It’s just a vibe you can kind of gather by watching their reactions to questions. You can tell they’re being fake with their answers, much like Ben.
I could be way wrong. I’m not saying I can read minds. But I can sort of tell when someone is saying something just because they’re afraid for their careers. No actor wants to piss off a writer.
Chief, I would love to hear what those who praise The End have to say about those observations of yours.
They might disagree, and that’s fine. These were hunches of mine. You know how you can kind of tell when someone’s hiding the truth, but they want you to know that they’re hiding it? That’s what I gather from some of these cast members.
Chief, I didn’t wrote that much but I have read almost everything written on this site. I can say that I really appreciate reading your posts/comments, I tried to read them all. Your comments are always very funny, consistent and genuine. You always said what came to your mind even though you know in advance that most do not think so.
Like you, I think this last episode was great (as an episode), but terrible as the ending of the series. There are too many mysteries unsolved. The writers, at least, could have given us more clues in order to allow us to theorize about it.
Let me ask you this provoking question:
Now that the show is over, don’t you would prefer the island as a spaceship? At least we knew what the island was 🙂 🙂
Best regards,
Marco
Thanks Marco. I remember seeing you on here a while back, so I believe you when you say you’ve read a lot on this site. But yeah, I try to be honest.
What’s funny is I almost wonder if the island is a spaceship in a way. Whatever that light was, whatever it does, it looks like it was created. It’s no meteor or natural occurance I mean. We could all say some ancient civiliazation made it. Maybe the Egyptians made it, but I somehow doubt it.
To be honest, I’m glad they didn’t really explain the light any more than they did. I was just hoping the damn writers would tie everything else together at some point. If they ever tried to connect things, they failed miserably. Hence, all the pissed of ex-fans of Lost.
Chief, I also think its better they didn’t explain the light because it would give crap.
I still wonder how a stone/cork so “weak”, that even Desmond and Jack managed to lift up, could sustain all that immense energy!
Another thing, without the cork the water stopped flowing, with the cork put back the water flows again … any sense in this?
I think the writers have put all these sci-fi and mythological elements only to attract and retain viewers. They never bothered much to try to explain them. And in this last season they had a chance to instead of filling sausage (you know what I mean? I have literally translated a Portuguese proverb).
J.J. Abrams said he had already written the final episode since the pilot (I think it’s because of that Lapidus doesn’t appear in the final transition to afterlife, neither Miles, etc.). So, if he already traced the fate of the series since the beginning, we see clearly that all these elements, Dharma Initiative, Statue, Light, Temple, Hatch (it was main mystery of the first season), the mechanical noise of the smoke monster, etc. .. . (You know what I mean) were placed only in order to catch our attention. This leaves me very sad. They could at least have come to this site and used some of the incredible ideas that some had to explain all the mysteries.
Right now, I am definitely not in peace with myself and I’m very reluctant to start watching a new series. But we need to move on asap…
Best regards
