Ben’s mother may not have been on the Island when she died but the Smoke Monster and/or the Island can still get her image from Ben’s mind.

I always thought it was Juliet. I don’t know why, i guess i never really thought about other people it could be. I don’t think that a smoke monster image of a person would be helping the others that actively and directly, but i have no idea.
