age discrepancies and time-lines
hi losties, hav’nt posted since the site breakdown so and my theories and questions were LOST! , but ive read every single thought,theory,question and argument and congrats to everybody for them..has any t.v show generated this much interest? i dont think so….looking forward to continuing the debate after the final season, but after that, what are we to do?? i’m going to re-post some of my questions that were lost, plus some other burning questions…feel free to scrutinize!
WIDMORE,ELOISE AND LOCKES FATHER’S AGE/TIMELINE
While im explaining this follow the timelines closely because there is an issue at the end…i’ll start with eloise…
she is 17 in 1954 on the island and appears to be the leader(weather she was born there or came with the army,who knows )…at this point faraday tells her he’s from the future (jughead) and disappears before her eyes….23 years later in 1977 (the incident episodes) she would be 40!! looks well doesn’t she!! the last you see of her she is hit over the head by richard to protect her…at this point or soon after, she leaves the island to have her baby (presumably daniel), and the next actual time we know of her is when daniel is playing the piano at home, and he is about 12…….this would make the year 1989 and at this point eloise is supposed to be 52!!! there is no way she is 52 and they have made no attempt to age the actress at this point whatsoever!! the next point in time we see eloise in the show is in 1996 in the jewellers shop with desmond (flashes before your eyes), you can work the timelines out by following des’s episodes…here she is an OLD woman!! her age is roughly 59/60….how did she age this much in 7 years to the point where the makers used a different actress….repeat 7 YEARS….even tho this story was worked backwards if you like, that is a bit dodgy…..
i will now move on to widmore…follow the timelines closely!!
widmore is also 17 in 1954 on the island…the next timline we see him in is 1977 (on horseback,in the tent with young ben etc..) as a40 yr old…fair enough looks 40 ish….the next timeline we see him in is in 1988 when ben takes danielles child alex…he is now 51 and the show has used alan dale…the next timeline he is being banished by ben and the year must be roughly 1995 as alex is now a young child of about 7 being pushed on the swing by ben…this makes widmore 58!!! and you can tell they have tried to de-age alan dale…it is at this point the problems start….so widmore is banished around 1995 yes? The very same year desmond is being kicked out of the monastry, meets penny and widmore is the buyer of the wine they are packing and moving!!! we know its 1995 coz that is the date on the bottle label……one year later widmore is interviewing des (flashes before your eyes) in his high rise sky scraper!!!! and des says he has been with penny for two years!!!
HOW DOES WIDMORE GO FROM BEING JUNGLE BOY TO BILL GATES IN ONE YEAR!!! I REPEAT ONE YEAR!!!
MOREOVER, WHERE DOES THIS MONEY COME FROM???
remember widmore would be 70 years old when locke turns the donkey wheel and ends up in 2007….
they’ve made no attempt to make him look 70 and lets face it, he would be retired….again, these cannot be mistakes on the producers part, we were SUPPOSED to spot this…widmore tells ben on the phone when ben goes to kill penny, that he has been trying to get back to the island for 20 yrs!!!! this is not true…he was still there in 1994/5…even then if he was trying that hard, he would have been on the freighter!!
remember eloise and widmore were once, and maybe still are, very close…daniel is thier son….THERE IS WITHOUT DOUBT, AN 8-10 YR DISCREPANCY IN THIER LIVES….
the 3rd discrepancy with ages is lockes father - TOMSAWYER/ANTHONY COOPER…
The episode in which locke is born sees his mother EMILY dancing around getting ready to go out with “him”, and her mother says “HE IS TWICE YOUR AGE”…we have to presume that “he” is the father of her child as she is pregnant and in love at the time….this would make him 32 and the year is 1956….if this is meant to be cooper, that makes him 80 yrs old when our sawyer kills him in the black rock “brig” episode….!!! REPEAT 80 YRS OLD!!!…..sorry guys cooper is not 80 and again they’ve made no attempt to age him….
HE IS NOT LOCKES FATHER…..he is a con man and thats all…
i should imagine the red-headed woman we know as lockes mother is probobly also a con woman and in on it with cooper….
this brings me to a so far undiscussed matter(appologies if anyone has brought it up)….
lockes mothers name is EMILY, when she gives birth to him in 1956 and probobly no older than 16……when ben is born in the forest, his mothers name is EMILY (rogersgirlfriend/wife)…this is 1965 and she is about 25 yrs old……THE TWO EMILYS ARE THE SAME PERSON….the timeline fits which makes ben and locke BROTHERS…..
this is not so sinister, its all there in the fine details
i do have my own theories as to the the age /timeline discrepancies and thats for another post……since posting this in august last year i’ve seen no real answers to these problems in other posts, and there are more burning questions to come in my next post…..ITS ALL A MATTER OF “TIME”

Ive always thougth that Copper wasnt Locke’s dad. It’s always seemed to be a great mislead that would be easily explainable when its revealed.
As far as the mother of the two being the same person, its very possible. The fact that both are blonde, and they have the older lady saying she is Locke’s mom as a redhead. They plan this stuff pretty well, and obviously was the reason they made Claire a blonde when they introduce her to us.
When it comes to Widmore making so much cash so fast, he was probably already a multi-millionaire when he left the island. Ben is the leader of the Others but still we know he has the fund to pay Miles 3.2 million to hide his whereabouts. Miles tells him, “I know who you are, and I know what you can do.” (paraphrase methinks) We also know that Widmore was going off island plenty as Ben does as evidence of all his foreign cash and passports. So being the corrupt leaders of the walking contradictions we know as the Others, Ben probably learned his financial practices and made himself wealthy like Charles did.

wow, nice! I never bothered timelining the flashbacks.
Im guessing all the age problems exist due to familarity.
If they used diffrent actors (but who are the right age) it would confuse viewers.
