Pastlives…

I am thinking that the occurances on the island are a past life for our losties. The plane crash brought them there as a sort of purgatory and they go back according to their time on the island. The events in their current lives are panning out as a result of what happens on the island (the good vs. evil battle) the Losties we see having hardships are the ones that sided with MIB and the ones that are working out well are the ones that sided with Jacob. Any thoughts??
I must say I agree with you on that, although we know from past experiences that we should never jump to conclusions with this show!
I’ve always believed in my own personal life that when we pass away we live a life again dependent on how we’ve lived the previous one. E.G: A good person will have a better life in their next life and a bad person a worse life. Hope that makes sense!
I love the way they’ve done it in a sense of not only capitalistic wealth but also on a moral level too. To put it into context I’ll use Linus & Hurley. Linus may not have a completely smooth life in the alt time line but he has a very good relationship with his father and he also makes the right decisions. Hurley on the other hand is much more optimistic and seems to have prospered in wealth.

The purgatory theory was ruled out years ago in statements by the creators of the show.
But I like your twist of the theory, making the alternate reality the resulting reward or punishment.
