Chances of getting onto the Island
Someone mentioned a few days ago that they were starting to re-watch Lost from season 1 all the way through season 4, so i thought id give it a go. Sod’s law half way through season

Just going to list some facts:
We know Desmond got it from leaving on an incorrect bearing to the freighter.
We know 815 crashed becuase of the magnetic pull from Desmond not pushing the button.
Rousseau was the only one who did not go into the Temple (Jin stopped her), and she was the only one from her team that didn’t get the “sickness”.
I do not think Rousseau’s team became sick until the Temple incident.
Having said that, it is an interesting question as to whether Rousseau’s said sickness is the Time Temporal Displacement sickness that Desmond gets.
With Desmond’s, he is in obvious agony, which would make people want to tend to him and help him out. When Rousseau’s team got sick, she wanted to kill them, saying that they “weren’t themselves.” Robert was most definately conscious in their episode, whereas Desmond and Charlotte pass out for some time each episode.
Therefore I think they are different sicknesses, which I find interesting. Great point you brought up dave.
