  1. i think jack should have helped ben. i had such an ominous feeling from richard. its as if its the others who created the ben we love and hate.

  2. What the hell is Richard gonna do to Ben?

I like how the hostile guy told Richard that they should ask Ellie or Charles what to do about Ben and he was like screw them I do what I want!

  3. So…RA, “He will always be one of us.”…Charles Widmore said “I know what you are boy!”…so, what exactly are they? Not human? Ghosts? Jins? Hmmm….so, if Jack would have saved little Ben’s life, he would not have lost his innocence? Jack just can’t get it right, poor guy. Just babbling.

  4. he was brought to the temple, his innocence was sold to island for his life, im geaussing its almost like selling your soul to the devil.
richards somehow got that permentent immunity pass. they all respect him they might not agree but it is what it is.whatever it is he`s somthing special.

  5. Clementine’s mom told Kate that Kate TOOK Aaron. That Sawyer broke his heart and that taking Aaron was Kate’s way of “fixing it”. Could this be kind of a mirror on Ben’s life. If Juliet dies in the purge and Ben was infatuated with her, maybe taking Alex was Ben’s way of mending his heart.

  6. I thought the jesting about time travel was brilliant! This is how it is for me and my co workers on Thursdays (I am always conspiring, they are “watching” it unfold with no major theories). I LOVED Hurley’s bit about waiting to disappear!

  7. cool episode, packed with lots of goodies.

kitty, i was thinking the same thing about what hurley said and relating that to future ben connected to past ben. we can assume that if anything happened to past ben that future ben would have died as well.

richard actually says “i do not answer to them” when the hostile mentioned that he should go over his plan with eli and that widmore would not be happy. cooool. who does he answer to?

  8. Perhaps Richard is somewhat of a cultural parasite? They all took over New Otherton and all Is it possible that the Others are all zombi-sque? Do Rousseau’s partners turn up, or Amy’s first husband in the background shots? I don’t think to look, but wouldn’t that be a humzinger! Remember, they wanted his body….ewwww…it’s all Shaun of the Dead! Zombie army, unite! I need sleep!

  9. lol kitty, i like that, an island of zombies.

one thing that really bothered me tonight is how juliet explained why the real doctor was not available. he was at the looking glass station and would not be back until friday. what does that mean? why couldn’t he/she come back sooner.

  10. Hmmm…I don’t rightly know! I am assuming it perhaps was the internist?

Something important to note…I was listening the Darlton podcast for last episode, and they touched on believing that something is truth just because something on the show says it….I am disinclined to believe Faraday as omniscient…I think they are wanting us to think a bit more outside the box. I liked most of Miles’ theories about time not being a straight line….it was a great episode tonight!

  11. Great episode. We found out some major stuff last night! At first I thought Kate was going to leave Aaron with Sawyers baby-mama, then I thought she just didn’t want to tell Jack that she lost him at the grocery store… I was a bit despondent because I had thrown in with the Carole Littleton crowd… in the end though I wasn’t disappointed.

So “whatever happened, happened” bit Jack in the ass last night. He obviously isn’t subscribing to that theory… unfortunately for him by trying to change the past he participated in causing exactly the event he was trying to prevent. He wanted Ben to die to avoid all the trouble Ben had caused him. If he had saved his life then he would have accomplished his goal! But he drove Ben straight to the Others and they made him into the person who did all the stuff Jack was trying to prevent. Way to go, buck-o!

I loved the argument between Hurley and Miles… mostly because it seemed so much like the conversations we’ve been having here over the past couple weeks. I was happy to hear the Miles seemed to be winning the argument… but then Hurley kind of thwarts him at the end by asking why Ben was supposed to have been shot all along why doesn’t he remember? But enter Richard Alpert at the end of the episode to save the day. Why doesn’t Ben remember Sayid, Kate, Jack, Juliet, Hurley, Miles, etc? Forgetting is a part of the process of losing your innocence and becoming an Other! So says Richard Alpert. My resolve is strengthened and the “Whatever Happened, Happened” theory survives another week without being contradicted.

Charles and Ellie are in charge of the Others… but Richard doesn’t seem too impressed with them. I suppose they’re on their way out. I wonder how they both got off the island. Did they move the wheel together? Does that even work? Tune in next week… and the following week… and the week after that..

  12. When Alpert 1st met young Ben (another time around) Ben asked, “take me with you” and Alpert said, “maybe” it might happen and Ben had to be “very, very patient”. Maybe the patient part was not ‘the purge’ but the living until flight 815 brought him back to become one of ‘them’ (and I don’t mean just a hostile … )

  13. Did anyone else get the feeling when Richard asked “is that Ben Linus?” that it had been a very long time since Richard had seen him? Like, longer than a couple years?

  14. I am now 100% behind the whatever happened, happened theory. For 1 theres aload of proof to back it up and none against it. I think the writers wrote in the scene with Miles and Hurley debating time-travel as a bit of a piss take because nobody knows how its going to pan out because it is completely upto the writers…nobody can theorise because as physics go as it is time-travel isnt possible so its an open field for them…they could write whatever they want and we couldn’t disagree. Im with Miles btw. Also the fact that Jacks decision made Ben who he is I think Ben now in his present self knows this because he ‘wanted’ Jack to save him…I think he wanted Jack to save him in the past aswell so that he wouldn’t become what he is. A shell of a man. I believe Ben in the future is a good guy and is just trying his best to put things right but he’s got to come to the terms with te fact that whatever happened, happened. You can’t change what you’ve done you can only try and make amends for the things you did.

  15. I love the fact that Ben also by the looks of it didn’t know that Locke would be resurrected. The horror on his face was quite satisfying even though I do believe hes just trying to do the right thing now. I also think that this is going to be a test for Locke set forward by the island in the way that he has to forgive Ben….Locke could well be the person to forgive Ben of ALL his sins and therefore we get the innocent Ben back with all that evil knowledge. I hope anyway 🙂

  16. haha. im not so sure about innocent ben. net week episode will have plenty of goodies and i am excited indeed. i think a lot of this season we will see the losties causing many of the mysteries/ events that shaped their previous island experience. our corner of the ring is pretty safe this week.

but also even if ben knew sayid had shot him and the temple didnt erase his memory, ben is the type of guy to keep this information secret to use for his benefit. decent episode…creepy bizarro claire in the grocery store. also i thought claires mum looked like penny a bit.

  17. it’s going to be a crazy ride from her until the last episode this season. wesley, how can you defect to the “what happened happened” gang? are you just trying to do the opposite of me 🙂
