Jin or Sun?
Which is the candidate “Kwon”? I had thought it would be both, together but now I’m not sure… I started thinking about it again last night when Ilana was telling Sun that she wasn’t sure which of them she was supposed to protect…
Sun’s real name isn’t Kwon, it’s Paik… but I think that was just something the goofed on or maybe even did on purpose…
In the flash sideways, Sun’s name isn’t Kwon, it’s Paik. I wonder if that means anything…
Ilana does propose the idea of it being both of them though, so maybe that’s still it…
I think it’s both Jin and Sun. Jacob did not touch either of them until they were married (Sun’s name had become Kwon) and he specifically touched them both.
I’m not sure either of them (Sun or Jin) are candidates. The main reason being, if it turns out one of them is, it’ll make the other look unimportant, and it would sort of throw some imbalance in the way we view them as a couple. I thought it could possibly be both of them, like everyone else is contiplating, but how stupidly corny would that be?
Goin on a limb here – I’m thinking there’s a possibility that Widmore’s bringing Ji Yeon to the island. Jacob (assuming he was being truthful) seems to WANT this visitor to find the island. Why would he want Widmore there? Perhaps he’s bringing the last candidate, that being the real candidate Kwon.
that is a possibility chief, maybe he touched both sun and jin together at the same time because they as a whole are what makes up Ji Yeon? it’s not really as crazy as it seems, but i don’t think wimore has her. (unless..he’s babysitting all the kids and has little charlie, aaron, ji yeon and walt with him hahahah)
but i still want to think that sun and jin are both candidates and are adam and eve..although im not sure i can believe that, and i have no explanations to back it up
I would like to find out that it’s Ji Yeon who is the candidate… it would be cool to see Ji Yeon end up on the island somehow (somehow that wasn’t too crazy) and to be raised there by her parents who later become Adam and Eve…
I think Widmore having the kids with him on the sub would be kind of crazy… I have no idea how they would get Ji Yeon there… then again I think Aaron should probably end up on the island too but I can’t see any sane way for him to end up back on the island either… Little Charlie is the only one who looks to have any logical chance at getting to the island and I can’t figure out how he’d be significant.
I know what ya mean. I would think Aaron would be of much more significance than Ji Yeon, and we’re not even hearing about him at all. We’re gonna have to hear more about these kids at some point, you’d think anyway.
I want to think that the kids are important… and I really think that they are. But how important are any of them? Aaron is the only one I can see that has any real claim to fame… first that it was kind of made into a big deal that he not be raised by another… that claim at first seemed to have been made by a lame fake psychic… now it seems possible that the psychic had been influenced by Jacob. The other is that it seems possible that Aaron died in the plane crash and was resurrected a short time later on the island… maybe not but I sure think it seems that way.
Ji Yeon was conceived on the island and Sun didn’t die which seems significant. Mothers die on the island and Juliet thinks it’s due to something that happens at conception. Either she’s special or Juliet was wrong. Aaron was born on the island which might also be significant. But if that’s all it takes then why the hell did they kill off the last super-duper-ultra important character who was conceived and born on the island? Ethan should have been walking, talking significance. But he’s dead (at least on the island) so I don’t know how important that could be…
Little Charlie is important only because a couple of his family members have ties to the island… I don’t know what to make of that. I think he’s served his purpose already in saving his mother’s life when Ben wanted to kill her.
I think it might be Sun. Jacob touched both Jin and Sun, and said something to the extent of ‘don’t forget that you love each other, etc. etc.’ Sun’s love for Jin is the only reason that she does not leave him at the airport. Her love for Jin is what gets her on that plane and on the island. I think it was Jacob’s way of getting her there. Jin just might be a tool in transporting her and protecting her.
I’m not sure there’s any way Jin could have survived the freighter explosion if he wasn’t protected somehow. It seems to be a bit convoluted to have him survive that just to get Sun to come back given Jacob’s ability to get people to the island when he wants/needs them there.
Sun’s candidacy could be the reason she was able to conceive on the island and not die… she’s protected.
I’m leaning heavily towards them both being candidates but I don’t want to discount the possibility that it’s Ji Yeon.
