I read this observation on another theory site and thought it was pretty interesting:
The show ends on the 23rd.
The 23rd is a Sunday, not a Tuesday like usual, so this date was deliberately chosen.
Jack is 23.

I'm female, 28, a musician who plays a white ukulele and a black guitar, and I'm a fraternal twin. I have a fondness for tropical islands and wondering what's across the sea. Unlike the MIB - I've left home, many times, and concur with the Beach Boys that the cutest girls in the world are indeed housed in the United States (of Elizabeth Mitchell).

That’s weird. Is there something special happening in the US on the following Tuesday, the 25th? Or did they actually cherry pick that date?
hehe, I think they also chose that date because it was a Sunday and they’ll get a higher share, LOL!!! Suchhhhhh a coincidence that it was the 23rd – but with this show, NOTHING is a coincidence…..!!!
I remember reading around season 3 that Darlton made ABC agree on a specific end date way back then after they knew for sure where the story was going.
They wanted it to be on a Sunday so they could dedicate the whole weekend to the end of Lost, here in the states, we get to see the two hour pilot episode the night before and that is all followed the next day by the clip show and some other BS and then the Finale, and then Jimmy Kimmel is doing something with the Darlton (that part is previously taped) but the whole cast is suspose to be there live to answer questions etc. But yes, it was specifically set to be on the 23rd of May, as a shout out to reiterate that what they have always said about Jack being the most important character still holds true (much to my dismay).

Yeah, I heard they chose that date specifically because it was one of the numbers.

hmmmmmm….or just that it’s a Sunday and maybe Locke will rise from the dead on the 7th day?
Heard that too ScrollLocke, but had forgotten about it. Thanks for reminding.
