Flocke scared of Jack. Why?
Written 14th April
Why did Flocke look so scared to see Jack turn up with Hurley? He appeared unphased, almost expecting to see Sun and Frank but appeared to have no idea that Jack would be with them.
What is he afraid of?
Any ideas??

Jack/John are kinda’ ying/yang.
The names are the ‘same’
Doctor/patient.
And, their relationship/ideas on the island.
I reckon it could quite simply be that he thought Jack would be the hardest to convince, seen as he’s always a bit stubborn. I think MIB probably has this big plan cooked up about how he will convince Jack to side with him, and he was gonna use Claire and Kate etc.. I think he was suprised at how easily Jack turned up.
I think Widmore kidnapping Jin was a great move. Now MIB doesnt have all the candidates and Jack has promised Sun they’ll find Jin and leave.
I hate to disagree, but I will. I perceived that Jack was the one who was afraid of Flocke… Flocke looked tickled pink to see Jack. He gave him that creepy smile he does so well.
Flocke knows that Jack is ‘supposed’ to kill him.
I think Flocke was taken aback, not scared, because Jack coming there is supporting what Jacob has been trying to prove, that is, the progress of people changing and doing things differently. Jack has made the greatest change from a man of science and doubt to a man of faith and trust. Flocke is threatened by that since he insisted that people cannot and do not change. However, I have to agree with brokenankh42 that Jack looked a bit terrified at the Flocke evil Terry O’Quinn stepfather stare.
I also think it was Jack who seemed oddly afraid. He smiles seeing Kate and some familiar faces, and then his face turns scared when seeing Locke. Like he didnt believe that there was a creature using Locke’s body.
I too have to agree with brokenankh42, lostonlongisland and greatforsaken. Jack seemed terrified when he looked Flocke in the eye… This was probably the most disturbing scene for me in the last episode!
What made it disturbing was the following fact: Jack KNEW they were going to talk to “Locke” – Hurley said so when trying to convince him. So he should have been expecting to see LOCKE at some point, and therefore should not turn from pleasure (meeting Kate’s eyes) to utter fear in the blink of an eye when meeting Flocke’s eyes. What I think is that Jack went further than Flocke’s physical image, and saw what was really inside. THIS is what scared him, and not the fact of having Locke in front of him. He knew he was going to meet whatever had taken the form of Locke – he just wasn’t ready for THAT…. Is it possible he saw his dad, Christian, somewhere in Flocke???
I think the next episode will tell us what he really saw and why he was so scared of it….
Based on “The Last Recruit”, I think Nemesis is excited/nervous to see Jack. I think he knows that Jack is Jacob’s “primary candidate” or sorts, and his main “enemy” at this point.
Jack, on the other hand, was perplexed and confused when he saw Nemesis. That was the first time that he had seen Nemesis in John Locke’s form, so he was probably taken aback quite a bit.
