“Who else have you looked like?”

I just want to put this out there because it was in a theory of mine titled “Christian Shepard” a few weeks ago and it’s still bothering me because Lostpedia has updated the Smoke Monster’s page to include ALL Christian Shepard appearances.

In “The Last Recruit”, Jack asks Flocke (paraphrased):
Jack = On the third day we were here, I chased my dead father into the jungle. Was that you?
Flocke = Yes that was me.

Flocke answers Jack’s question, and Jack’s question was about Christian’s appearance in “The White Rabbit” (S1). It is NOT a general reference to ALL Christian appearances. Flocke says “Yes that was me (that you saw on the third day you were here)”. Smokey MAY have been, and probably WAS most of the other appearances of Christian as well, but not necessarily so.

The biggest contradiction for me is Michael’s death. Whispers are heard before Christian appears to Michael (indicative of the “lost souls” on the island) and the freighter is miles off-shore!

Started watching Lost in September 2009; finished Seasons 1-5 in 20 days.. my wife was not thrilled during this time. I am a believer in John Locke and that he may somehow still play a key (and good) role on the island.

  1. Makes ya wonder doesn’t it? Makes you wonder if the producer was like “I think it would be cool to add some crazy whisper sounds before Christian appears, just for effect.” Or if they actually knew what they were doing and placed the whispers in there for a specific, and logical reason. That reason being that it’s actually Christian on the freighter.

Unfortunately, this is another area of the show that makes me think they just dropped the ball, and said “to hell with being consistent. Let’s just try and make this part creepy.”

It really kind of sucks that we fans pay more attention to these details than the producers do. I could be VERY wrong, and maybe the whispers always have a purpose. I just don’t think that’s the case.

How the hell is anyone supposed to figure that out? Sometimes it’s Christian, sometimes it Flocke? It’s too much even for the nitpickers like all of us.

  2. *fingers crossed* please dont let christian be flocke! please dont let christian be flocke!

i really really dont think christian is flocke, it just doenst make scene, he was off island visiting jack, he was on the frather. if they dont explain the christian thing further (which sadly i dont think they will) i will be pretty sad. because lets face it, if christian is flocke then there are a billion inconsistencies in the show!
