New insight to the VE and Backgammon connection!
Ok, so I am really excited about this and I haven’t read anyone stating this yet, so I am really hoping this is new to all. If its not than forgive me and write me off as a Lost fan who is really lost. Truly thats what I am, but here I go with my “theory”.
I submitted my first theory last night about Adam and Eve, the black and white stone in their pocket and how that related to the scene where Locke was teaching Walt to play backgammon. He explained to him how the game was 5,000 years old and it’s played with two teams, ones black and one’s white, and he holds up a black and white stone, or playing peice.
I don’t know anything about backgammon, so I decided to research it. The game is pretty confusing so I can’t say I “know” how to play, but I understood a few interesting things. The most interesting is the doubling cube that is used. It is a cube that consists of the numbers 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, and 64. Interesting eh?
Also interesting is a rule called the Jacoby Rule. It wouldn’t make any sense unless you understood how to play, so I wont go into that.
Last of all is the possibility of a “stalemate”, when neither opponent can move. Technically the only way this is possible is if one opponent made an illegal move.
Did Adam and Eve come to a stalemate and somehow kill each other? Like Nikki and Paulo? The person making the illegal move may not have known they did it. But when a stalemate happens, it’s clear something illegal happened, and it may not be traceable, leaving each side to possibly blame each other.
Please give me insights and opinions. Anyone who actually understands backgammon may have a lot more insight to how it parallels with Lost.

I have absolutley no clue how to play Backgammon and don’t know the details of the game, but it’s pretty interesting what you have found, lostinthought. I hope somebody who knows the game will comment on this. 🙂
