Lewis?!

I have recently discovered the extensive list of internet communities that are devoted to the development of Lost theories, so forgive me if this question has long ago been answered.
In this current season the viewers are introduced to a Dharma station by the name of The Lamp Post. I immediately connected this with the Narnia Series, where in the first book (The Magician’s Nephew) the witch is pulled back into Narnia (The Island) and out of desperation of staying in the ‘real world’ she grabs onto a lamp post. A arm on the lamp post breaks off and is pulled back into Narnia with her, after passing through the portal it arrives in Narnia with her and begins to grow into a fully functional lamp post. The children in The Lion Witch and The Wardrobe are first introduced to Narnia by the sight of this unusual placement of iron and light.
My question does the name of the Dharma station allude to anything other than the obvious passage to a strange mystical world.
Also, what was the reason for Charlotte’s character to be named after C.S. Lewis? I see no striking similarities in their philosophies, or more specific their theology or lack of.
Has their been a thread that discusses the relation between C.S. Lewis, his books, and Lost. I personally would find this terribly interesting. THANKS!

  1. THis has been discussed but i couldnt tell you how long ago, u’ll just have to go through past theory and question pages as there isn’t a search option on here. The general consensus is it’s the writers acknowledging there interest in CS Lewis’ work and/or the similarities that exist, just like all the Egyptian, Biblical, Greek Mythology references.
