losts-columbo, as usual you have given me something to think about. If they were brothers, then that might make perfect sense, that one might be afraid. hmm…I will ponder that thought, further!
lol losts-columbo, I am not even certain that we can safely assume that Jacob’s Nemesis, is the evil of the two!
I feel that is an ‘avenue’ that should be explored, before drawing any conclusions.
I agree that it was clever and most frustrating that the writers decided to call him Jacob. I feel they are misleading us purposely on that one.
I personally am going to avoid placing labels on them, because I feel that their very presence, may be indicative, of a long drawn out battle that has been ‘looping’ around for awhile.
haha! i dont think he is evil either, i think from what ive seen of jacob, i certainly wouldnt put him on my christmas card list!
and i also have not put and labels onto any charactor, im sure the writers are proud of ther creations, and i think theyre accomplished enough not to base them on anyone in history or mythology.
but, i think they could possibly be brothers.
i also have been thinking about when jacob caught the fish, very self sufficient man, maybe at that time they were very primitive, and found smething to get people to the island, and hopefully for themget them off the island.
if they are immortal, then perhaps they gathered skils through ut ther years on the island, seeing races coming and go, ie, egyptian, greek odysseys etc.
losts-columbo, I’m definitely with you on that one! i wouldn’t be placing Jacob on my Xmas card list at the moment. lol
I am favouring the whole ‘brothers’ idea, as it would play into the theme of the Bad Twin book, and I do believe that there are two ‘lost’ characters, who may be brothers! I will wait for that to play out, for or against, before I blab, though! lol
Immortal, is a great way of putting it!
Boredom might just go along with being ‘immortal’. lol
apomales, I agree with you on Jacob’s Nemesis, finding the opportune moment with John Locke, having Richard tell him that he needed to kill himself.
I am not sure why they cannot kill each other, but hopefully somebody will come up with some good ideas to entertain.
is a possible reason wh the guy cant kill jacob, and i know tis is a bit of a cop out, but simply because he is scared or simply not brave enough?
hmmm…..interesting!
x
losts-columbo, I suppose that is possible. What I am wondering if this ‘dual of sorts’ between them, goes beyond the physical bodies. Dunno really.
of course its possible dabslap!
cos, if you think about it, he could for instance just stab him right there right then like ben. so why not?
its obviously something stoping him, be it rules or something that is more in the realms of fantasy. or as i siad hes not brave enough.
or its not worth it, maybe he is alot higher up in some peckeing order, as you wouldnt say that to your superiour, so perhaps its his brother?
exatly, who knows!
x
lol haha dabslap!

i thought brothers when i first saw them!
they had the deameanor of brothers.
like the offering of fish, and jacobs relaxed position, like, “i dont care if he doesnt want any of my jerk fish!”
like you would say to your brother.
perhaps jacob got first dibs on leader or perhaps he is older than the guy he talks to.
ponder dabslap! ponder!
x
losts-columbo, I do happen to think they are brothers, but am reluctant to place any ‘biblical’ name to them.
It just doesn’t sit well with me at present. Having said that, what transpires between them, is symbolic of sibling rivalry!
The writers have hinted at this, and I certainly see that it is a strong possibility.
See, I committed to an answer! lol
i agree with you dabs, i firmly disagre with all the jacob and easau and cain and able comments.
i think theyre there own people, its just unfortuante that he is caled jacob that people jump into things.
im just hoping in this instance thatjacobs friend isnt called adolf……uuhhh oohhh!
