Used her yes but dead? Maybe not. She’s still a useful tool. In any case this could be one of the reasons she was taken which seems plausible. I want a Claire flashback episode to see what happened to her.
damnit! i was hoping claire would still be alive. but now i’m really starting to believe that she really did die in the explosion in the house she was in, and that rival took on her form.
but can rival take on two forms at once? b/c claire and christian were in the cabin at the same time. i can’t recall any other time where rival has taken on two forms at once, he always changes (i.e. from smokie to yemy, or to alex).
for some reason i’ve been having a hard time believing that christian is just rival taking on christians form.
If Claire did die in the explosion, that would explain why Miles was staring at her in the episode {don’t recal name] Jack was getting appendix out. He sees or talks to dead people, he’s pretty sure the girl {claire} sitting by pool of water is dead, or not a living person, yet everyone else sees her and talks to her. Sawyer gets in Miles face and says don’t look at her, talk to her nothing. Miles is freaked wondering what the….is going on.
Hi, lost fan, usually post on abc forum, first time here.
do we need to rewind a little bit here. If Smokie/Bad Twin/Man in Black was in the cabin and stuck there then someone must have broken the ash ring before the losties arrived on the island so he could escape and give people visions.
The other possibility is that smokie and the bad twin are two totally seperte people/entities.
i agree with aching, i think its a bit simple to just say the monster took on Christains form. There seems to be more to the Christian character than we are aware of. Why did he have a hand in getting so many people to the island?
Theres also a sense that he had knowledge of what was going to happen to Jack when he was a kid in a similar way ms Hawking did about Daniel. I have a stange feeling Christian at some point couldve been an other but either way i think hes more than just a body. Another thing is that Christians body was never found whereas Lockes was quite easily found, whats up with that???
I have a hard time following that theory. No matter how you break it he would have to have influence outside the ash to manifest someone else to come break the ash. If thats the case whats the point of the ash if he can cross it and manifest as someone else somewhere else?
I’m not so convinced that when Locke visits the cabin or even when Hurley sees it that Jacob is inside. Ilana said he wasn’t there and hadn’t been for a long time, along with a picture of the statue. (which after rewatching am conviced its Sobek and not Taweret (that was on another theory)) Jacob appears to have been away from the cabin and under the statue for much longer than the 3 or so years at this point, maybe the ash ring was broken at an earlier time? Or maybe Jacob trapped Rival in the cabin, and put the ash ring around it to keep him in, and once broken, Rival went nuts and burned the place up, then put with a machete a picture of where his target (Jacob) actually lived. Could all be a bit of a stretch tho
perhaps the ring was broken before the losties even crashed on the 815 flight? there must be a parallel between body-snatching – jack saw his dead father walking around in the first season. perhaps whatever was let out to pose as locke has been posing as dead folks from before the crash
It being Claire that broke the ring makes the most sense. If the smoke monster/jacobs evil twin can actually form itself into the body of the dead, then that means it became Christian. As we all may remember there was a scene when they had went to the cabin and not only was Christian sitting in the cabin but so was Claire and I believe she’s the one who let him in there.
maybe “locke” broke it on dead is dead when he dissapeared into the woods and came back and said he had some business
Yeah, somebody had to do that for him. I like the thought of Claire.
When Hurley first looked into the Cabin before any of this, we see Christian sitting in a chair and then an eye pops up.
But it was a brown eye, and The Evil Twin as you call him and Jacob both have blue eyes, so idk!
Hurleybird, for all we know, it may have been Ben & Locke when they went to Jacob’s cabin.
Ben had never communicated with Jacob before, so I doubt he had ever been there.
Richard did the communicating, and always told Ben to wait for when Jacob was ready to finally meet him. That never happened!
Right now, I am not sure where to place some of the characters!
Good thoughts!
I like the theory about Claire. After the finale I believe Claire is dead, the smoke monster used her, and probably killed her when he was done. 🙁
Used her yes but dead? Maybe not. She’s still a useful tool. In any case this could be one of the reasons she was taken which seems plausible. I want a Claire flashback episode to see what happened to her.

dizzyfromlost–i completely agree about that claire explanation…i think it explains everything and i’ve been saying that since like november haha

What you think?

So, if Claire is dead, and died in the explosion, which makes A LOT of sense, she couldn’t of broken the ash ring.
Could the ash ring be smoky’s abandoned remains?
I have a hard time following that theory. No matter how you break it he would have to have influence outside the ash to manifest someone else to come break the ash. If thats the case whats the point of the ash if he can cross it and manifest as someone else somewhere else?
