I am 100% sure that charlie is in fact desmonds son. we already know that desmond and pennys son is called Charlie, and desmond always had that..Instict To save chalrie all the time, Like a father would.
[spoiler]I know for a fact we will be seeing charlie again in season 6, When jacob met Hurley outside the prison He had a guitar with him , The exact guitar case that charlie had in season 1. He will Be back. The same way jack put his dads shoes on lockes body. For someone to come back to life something like that needs to happen.[/spoiler]
I agree with your possible spoiler but I don’t think your idea about Desmond being his father is as accurate. Charlie has an older brother and how is it possible for Charlie to be alive and die before he is born? unless he is time traveling from the future(well after the plane crashes but Charlie dies on the island)? but that seems a little far fetched…even for lost.
We’ve met Charlie’s parents. His mom gives him the piano; his dad catches him in the pool. The theory would also need to involve some connection between Charlies and his brother Liam.
Afraid I’m sitting on the other side of the fence here. I don’t see Charlie learning Des and Penny are his long lost folks.

Funny how people are so quick to write this off, just because we’ve seen Charlie with his parents and brother. That doesn’t rule out he may be adopted.
Des, Penny and baby charlie go to the island find themselves in the wrong time find someone to take their baby off the island safely (sure not bringing him in the first place would make more sense). then whomever and baby charlie return to the main-land and he’s given up for adoption.
I’m not really to into this theory because it has no relevence to anything, but would be a nice addition.

I always got the impression Charlie and LIam weren’t biological bros. Different accents and Charlie is like over 1 foot shorter than Liam!

Liam and charlie do not seem to be biological brothers.
I think desmond will return to the island with young charlie and someone will end up taking him off the island and rasing him, The existing parents of liam.

i have also believed that charlie could be desmond’s son (and in a roundabout way, named after himself).
but also, it is true that siblings do not necessarily look like each other/and or be the same height. (my younger brother is 6ft 4 and the rest of us under 5ft 7).
what i would say is that, claire and jack are half-brother and sister, so it is possible that charlie could have been adopted.
if we wanted to be really stretching the boat out here, baby charlie could also have been named after charles widmore…or could be him ( i havent watched season 5 yet)
but then that would make penny his daughter and his mother…..
