So the question was “WHAT lies in the shadow of the statue?”
The answer was “HE who will save us all.”
Since the question really seems like it should have been “WHO lies in the shadow of the statue” I can only propose one theory from this: Vincent will save them all. He’s the only thing that is both a what and a he, being that you wouldn’t refer to a dog as “who.”
It perfectly explains the portrait of old Vincent in the fake cabin. It’s not Vincent’s first trip there
there was a lot of theories when the show was in its 1st or 2nd season about vincent being a major storey line/something major in the show because he was the 1st thing jack saw when he opened his eyes, not sure if its gonna happen though? is that definately correct (what richard sed 2 illana) when asked what lies in the shadow??
What lies in the shadow of the statue is he who will protect us all, so i believe it means Jacob will protect them all. Read my John 3:16 theory then this will make more sense. its really interesting!
