what if it never ends???
what if at the start of season 6, jack wakes up in the jungle ( a la pilot episode) and everything is just as it started, a plane has crashed, rose is lying unconscious on the beach, claire is still pregnant… what if the flash at the end of s5 sends them back to where they started because they still hadn’t got it right? what if it’s all just one endless loop?

there is an episode of star trek TNG where there is a time loop story line. the loop keeps repeating until the team can send their future selves a message on what to change in order to stop the loop. in the end they are sucessful (which i hope the outcome of Lost will be).
an interesting point of this episode was that every time the loop repeated the crew kept hearing whispers which they discovered were echoes of their past selves which maybe what the islands whispers are.
