Jacob and Ilana
This was mentioned before by someone else but as A.E.S. commented on Richard possibly having a lost love I am intrigued by the backstory of Jacob and Ilana. Although we only get a little glimpse of the two together the way in which Jacob asked Ilana for help is reminiscent of how Jack asks for Kates help time and time again.
Jacob seems to me as someone who has made hard choices and learned to live with them as I think the Losties are going to have to do in season six.

I cannot agre more that their backstory is of great importance.
