Is Yemis Aircraft more then meets the eye?
After cherry picking some of my favourite episodes to rewatch i picked up on something probably quite trivial, but the more i thought about it the more it bothered me.
Why is Yemis plane on the island? i may be missing something and this may turn out to be a really silly thought so bear with me.
As far as i could tell this was a small craft with an extremely short range fuel supply, it takes off in Nigeria on the atlantic coast and crash lands on an island presumably in the Middle of the Pacific, now my limited knowledge on aeroplanes tells me that plane would have to refuel numerous times in order to get to the island right.
Not only that but im sure a small craft like that wouldnt even make it across the pacific so how did it get there??
I know from the episode in the “Lighthouse” (The dharma station in the church) that Eloise says something along the lines of they know where the island is going to be, does this mean the island is moving constantly geographically around the globe because it seems to me on each of the other instancies that the island is always in the pacific.
1) 815 crashes in the pacific
2) Ajira Crashes going to Guam or somewhere like that, again in the pacific.
3) US armed forces were testing in the Pacific
4) Ben Linus Refrences Henry Gales balloon in his cover up as saying he was tring to cross the pacific.
Its something im struggling to get my head around and would like some input and ideas as to how/why the aeroplane ended up there. Is there a bigger reason other than chance because it has the aeroplane has directly influenced so many things and been in so many of the storylines,
1) It covers the hatch to a dharma station i think its the flame.
2) Its where boon dies.
3) Obviously its where Eko finds his brother.
4) Charlie finds the Heroin there.
5) Its where lock goes for richard to find him to take the bullet from his leg.
6) Its where Ethan Shoots locke.
7) You see crashing on the island for an instant in the top corner of the screen in the 1st or 2nd season but only for a brief moment. Sorry cant remember the episode.
There are probably many more instances where it has played a part and seems to much of a coincidence for it to be of no importance.
Yemi’s plane is clearly the updated version of the telephone booth from Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure. easy question….
On a serious note, I think 2 things here.
1 – I don’t think the island moves geographically, but I think windows TO the island are always hopping around, and that’s what Eloise guides people on
2 – We’ve seen these “pockets” of special power before. One in Australia where Rose tries to get healed. The other is in….AFRICA…where Ben and Locke get spit out after turning the Frozen Donkey Wheel. They’re all connected somehow.
Well wasnt Yemi’s plane crashed 2 years before flight 815 or was it longer? And if it was, how would the island be is some kind of time loop? What caused Yemi’s plane to crash on the island? We know that the sci team miles, dan, charolete traveled threw some sort of storm to get to the island im assuming Yemi’s plane did the same thing, weel we shall see if they touch this subject again?
