Were there hand held tasers in the 70’s like the one Sawyer used on Sayid? Or have we all areed to ignore this? Also along the same lines what about using zip ties as handcuffs? When Horace cut them off Sayid he never even asked him about it.
lol, seriously though…where the hell did this stuff come from?
Is everything just picked up through time on the isalnd.
Doesnt seem to make sense considering that when the isalnd traveled through time in season 5, the camp and hatch disappeared/restored…so that seems out.
Maybe the tasers, which I was joking with my answer Roland were actually manufactured in that timeperiod, and used by more of a military personel. But better odds are…
I would assume that the Hanso Foundation contributes to the arms collection on the island, and altough we may never hear, he may be responsible for the advanced weaponry and technology such as the tasers and the sonic fence…
sorry to steer so far away from the question Roland, but I feel that Hanso is the best possibility.
I did do a little research on it. The first tasers were made in ’69 but they weren’t handheld. Those came out in the ’90’s. But I’ve always heard the government is always at least five years ahead of the rest of us technology wise so maybe that accounts for it.
The sonar fence was made for dogs wasn’t it.
@Joshcgs: That never actually happened – but considering Kate and Juliet have the same taste in men, and those men have the same taste in women…they naturally should be interested in each other!
I didn’t make the avatar. I found it on a femmeslash site. There are some amazing fanfic writers out there who also think Juliet and Kate would make a great couple!
The fact that Horace does not question the zip ties as handcuffs and that Richard just kind of matter of factly listens to Sawyer’s story on the bench and doesn’t look more inrigued and ask more questions – and furthermore never (as far as we are privy to) comes back to Saywer within the 3 year period he is on the Island and further interigate his existense is bizarre to me! Matter of fact, many of the character’s throughout the show all seem to have that one thing in common – they don’t seem to be to interested in digging for more information when situations like the two above arise. They more seem to accept it and move on without much questioning… Personally if I were on that Island and things were playing out in real time, I’d be much more apt to try and figure out those small but very important details.
Leads one to believe that either our characters either non-equisitive, just plain dumb or know a lot more than they lead on to.
lol, no more than there were sonic fenes…
lol, nice AES

Why did the Swan have a brand new washer and dryer set when everything else was from the 70’s?
LIBBY: Is this washer and dryer newer than everything else in here?
good note ScrollLocke, always wondered that myself.
ScrollLocke, is that a picture of Kate & Juliet kissing because I do not remember that happening and would actually like to see it!
What is your avatar pic, did you make that?
