Most Essential Episode(s)

I was wondering what you guys all thought were some of the most crucial/essential episode(s) that have to fully be understood and appreciated to discover the beauty of Lost. To me it S1E5: White Rabbit. It is my favorite of all time.

Hi. I am an uber Lost fan. Admittedly, I jumped on the bandwagon a little late, halfway through the third season but thanks to the DVD's I am all caught up and do frequent re-watches. BTW my new image reflects my love/hate relationship with Lost. I always feel like I am on the verge of blowing up at the end of every episode because when I think I finally figured it out, nope the rug is pulled out.

  1. Mine is Through The Looking Glass. The ending of this episode, with the flashforward, made me clap my hands like a 10 year old and say “holy crap. this is gunna be so good.”

The episode was sad, because Charlie died, and Jack kissed juliet, but still….SO GOOD.

  2. I’m going to have to say The Constant. I think that’s what really got us to where we are now. Since this question made me think back though, I kind of miss the clueless innocence we all had when we knew NOTHING of the island. I remember being absolutely hooked once they found the hatch…

  3. “The Man Behind the Curtain” Season 3 Ep. 20

It’s the first time we see Jacob’s cabin and what’s inside. I thought it was one of the weirdest moments in TV history when Ben starts talking to no one, then before we know it, someone’s there.

John hears “Help me” from the invisible man. Whether it’s MIB, Jacob, or someone else, it could mean a lot any way you look at it.

  4. I hate DriveShaft by the way, and that stupid “You All Everybody” song. It makes no sense, it’s an ugly tune, it’s redundant, and yet, the entire world loves it in the show. LMAO.

Never was a big fan of Charlie.

I wanted to throw that out there because it’s time I came clean. It just kills me that Charlie is SOOOOO loved by the LOST audience. He was possessive as hell, hated it when John tried helping Claire. He smothered and dragged Sun away from her garden just because Sawyer asked him to. I didn’t want to make a topic out of it, so I figured I’d throw it in right here. Charlie was a bit of a punk……sorry he died though, that really sucks.

  5. I have a feeling some of the earlier episodes probably have the answer right in front of us, specifically the Desmond-centric episodes “Flash Before Your Eyes” and “The Constant.”

What if the “flashes” we see in those episodes are actual alternate timelines? I think someone mentioned this before.
