“Old Friends”?

I find it intriguing that Jacob referred to MIB as his old friend, and in The Variable, Widmore refers to Farraday (his son) as his old friend.  (when Farraday asks how he knows him)

Maybe they are all related, but friendship is more distinguishable?  OK thats stupid, I just found this phrase as interesting.  Especially since we know the real relationship between Widmore and Daniel.  Thoughts??

  1. I found that line to be very significant as well, almost as though Jacob & MIB used to work together toward the same goal.

Thats how they were able to meet and speak over breakfast, which Jacob offered some fish to MIB 🙂

MIB must have just turned of Jacob at some point “An old friend who grew tired of my company”
