an introduction, some questions and a speculation
Hi everyone!
Thank you for a terrific site and some very fine theories. While I have been a long time fan of the show and reader of theories, I have never posted anything before, but there is a first time for everthing. Please excuse my english, it is not my first language.
My questions are: Is there a reason for assuming that the four-toed statue is that of a man? Could it not be a statue of a woman? Or is there some information that I have missed? When I saw the statue I first thought it looked like Kate from behind…or at least a womans figure not a mans.
There are some theories about egyptian gods right now on this site and they make sence in regards to ancient peoples. I just want to add, that there were several goddesses of egypt who where thought to have the appearance of a cat, I am thinking of the ears now.
Please let me know what you think. I am sorry for posting this as a theory, I know it’s not, but I can’t find a way to post a question, maybe some of you could help me out?

i also thought it might be kate, especially wearing that skirt…but the four toe thing would have to be explained… seems more likely to be richard or one of his kind
The hair is intriguing. The pics I have seen of the Egyptian gods do not show them sporting long hair.
Hi blocke, the general consensus seems to be that it is that of Horus. Given the back story, it sounds reasonable.
The Egyptian gods did wear long head-dresses though… and “skirts” without a shirt were man wear. Women in Egypt wore long form-fitting “dresses” covering from neck to below the knees, and typically having long sleeves as well. The physiologic ideal depicted in Egyptian art is that men and women have a similar androgenous lankiness and women are even shown with wide shoulders. It is considered to be one of the more interesting enigma’s of Egyptian art and why later Greek art that had more realistic depiction of masculine and feminine forms was so ground breaking and important.
thank you for the comments!
pjdkrunkt: yes you’re absolutely right!(I wasn’t actually thinking of skirts, it was really more my very first intuitive reactions)
dabiatchishere: yes it does sound reasonable, but Horus had the head of a falcon, no?
