The Baby
Last night’s episode got me wondering, what’s the name of the baby? After seeing questions on who the baby is, I’ve come to a theory that the baby is one of Ben’s future ‘Others’ on the compound. This could possibly mean Ethan or the other guy that Juliet first liked (can’t remember the name). I’m leaning towards Ethan.
Some think maybe the baby is Jacob, but that’s impossible since Richard had been taking orders from Jacob since at least the 1950s. But back to the reason why I think it’s a ‘Ben Other’.
Eventually all the babies and children will be taken by the ‘Hostiles’ before the Purge. I’m pretty sure there were no dead children shown after the Purge.
With time travel involved, richards knowing of jacob in the 50s means next to nothing. It would make sense that Horace would build jacobs cabin for the baby. Could mean something
eggotised1, No way is the baby Jacob! I think that is ludicrous, IMO.
The general consensus seems to be it is Ethan, which makes more sense.

scratch that, just realized we have seen locke’s birth. Is it possible that it could be one of the oceanic 6 or some one we wouldnt expect? like Desmond?
It’s just as likely that the baby is Daniel. After all, Kate has established that mothers taking babies that are not theirs off of the island is part of the dynamic of the show. Ellie could easily have taken baby Daniel during “the purge”.
oh wow… k the baby cant be jacob …. because jacob is a survivor of the black rock and the baby is ben because horace is bens father.
what about desmond? we know he has no childhood history? ethan does make sense as well.
I think that the baby is no one we know. My reason is as follows:
Had Sawyer, Juliet et al been to the island in 1977 before the Oceanic crash, Alpert would have recognized all of the losties who were on the island before.
Since he does not know them when they come to the island via815, it means that Sawyer et al were not there before, and this is the first time they were on the island in 1977.
Because they weren’t there in 1977 before, they could not have intervened the 2 Others killing Paul and Amy. The Others were going to kidnap and/or kill Amy had Sawyer et al not shown up and kill them. In the first 1977, yjru were NOT there, so the 2 Others would have killed Amy so the baby would have never been born.
